  1. Got my pup chipped when I registered him at the vets for £11. Might not stop him from getting nicked but it is likely that if he ever did, the chip would be read at some point. Might be a week or 2 years later, but I'm sure id get a call....
  2. 4 months......I think Weighed Chief up today. 16.5 kg and 21 inches... Going to be a biggun...
  3. No, I think KC has a pup of that breeding called China...
  4. I only just read the Vinni thread yesterday. Unbelievable!! A mate of mine lives in Dartford and I'm only 40 mins away....Get some pics up ASAP. Hope he turns up soon....
  5. Six weeks on from when I started the thread. Just a few pics...Chief at 4 months... Cant wait till next season!
  6. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but how do you, or a vet, tell the difference between a fractured toe that has calcified or an infected toe bone....? My dog had a bite to his foot resulting in a puncture wound between his pads. In the morning his foot was like a balloon, but I kept it clean and within a day or two the swelling had all gone down apart from the outside toe. I gave this a few more days and kept the wound clean, but the swelling on the toe stayed, the vet said the small puncture wound had healed well by itself and no need for antibiotics...A few weeks later and the toe bone i
  7. Until you cough it up he has nothing to deny ?
  8. A fella I was working with last week had his dog go missing, two years later he had a call from a vet 60 miles away saying they have had his dog in and the microchip details did not match the details of the people who took her in......... The vet gave him the details of the new owners. He phoned them up and said hes coming to pick his dog up and he did. When he got there she pissed herself with excitement when she saw him. Took her home and it ran straight to the biscuit cupboard
  9. Might be worth unpinning this so it is seen more, people scroll past the pinned topics.......?
  10. Done, Click on the link on the left hand side posted on the 18th December. They are winning by 100. There is enough people on here to swing it around.......
  11. Ill have the white stone one matt, pm me your details, please... EDIT WHITE ONE PLEASE
  12. But that can also come down to the skill of the owner on how he enters the dog to each of its quarry ... If it's rushed then the most potential of dogs could be spoiled and if held back the full potential may never come to the forefront ... Obviously you get bad dogs as with all things in life but I was talking about guys that continually swap sell buy new dogs ... Every dog they have had can't be a bad dog surely ??? .............. They also always seem to buy adult dogs, rather than fetch a pup on themselves......
  13. Chief. Belle X Romeo. Be just over a year old when the ground starts to soften....
  14. That laird rake must have some booze by now, the amount of permission he has given out......
  15. I wont be getting anything for the farmers wife, because I think he is a bender........ Seriously. But biscuits and a bottle sounds the one.....Who knows, he might invite me in!
  16. Who buys the farmer a bottle for Christmas where you have permission.....? Whiskey seems the obvious choice...Or any other ideas.....?
  17. Thanks for your input activeiii, I have thought about a hornet but due to my lack of experience I have no real world knowledge of the calibre....Only ballistic charts... So compared to a .223 according to Winchester ballistic calculator the hornet is badly affected by wind, with both rifles zeroed at 100yds and a 10mph cross wind the .223 drifts 1 inch and the hornet 2.8 inches and its nearly 7 inches at 150 yards....This was with the hornet using 46gr hp and the .223 a 50gr ballistic silvertip.... I would feel more confident taking a shot and making a clean kill using more of a point
  18. Ammo consumption = experience, may be bollocks to some extent, but you wont gain experience if you don't use any ammo.......Its no good putting a few rounds through a gun and saying you are very experienced..... But I understand what you're trying to say, a new certificate holder blasting a few thousand rounds off at a target does not count as experience.... So there is some truth to what your saying but also some bollocks. I do understand your concern when it comes to firearms licensing, a .243 on an open ticket, with no conditions, on a first grant, with no shooting experience is
  19. .. and 6 months with a .22 rimfire counts towards a slot for a centerfire with expanding ammunition Yes.
  20. Worth a phone call then, I will see what my FAO says about it.... I currently have 3 permissions, one 26 acre small holding which was only cleared for .22lr and two farms both about 500 acres each which were already cleared for a .22lr but maybe more, I will find out. But I'm confident that if they are not already, then they will be cleared for a centrefire.... Cheers
  21. If the .243 is out of the question, which it may well be (if they wont grant it solely for fox). Then the only spanner in my works that might tempt me away from a .223 might be the 22-250..... I would be happy with either...
