  1. Finally getting better, the swab samples showed a few different resistant bacteria and VERAFLOX 120mg ticked all the boxes for his infection... So a week of one a day seemed to sort him out, but it took a few days after that week for the swelling to start subsiding.... So back to the vet and got another 14 prescribed...on day 6 of those so far....Have him out for hour walks off the lead now tearing around like a looney jumping fences and ditches....Not holding his foot up the following day anymore... Will post up a pic in a week or so....Hopefully get him a bit more action before the seaso
  2. My dog was £450 as a pup and I had my money's worth in his first season! And now I've got another 6/7 seasons for free! Haha! I'll take a pup out of him for nothing too, and one out of that one, and one out of that one! You are buying into a line, once you have it you can do what you want with it. Could last you a lifetime... Decent dogs attract a decent price for a reason it needs no explanation... If someone wants to give them away, great! I'll have two lol. But I wouldn't expect it..
  3. I agree Deker, but the reason some will have the .22/250 instead of the .243 is that they, like me don't have an open ticket and the land they have permission to shoot on is only cleared for .22 centrefire.
  4. Ha ha. I guess that depends where you shoot them! It's all about mistakes and margins. While I agree in theory that more ft-lbs should be more forgiving if you do cock up the shot..... In reality, my opinion of that is, its simply not true! That is based on the fact that I've shot a 220 swift and .223 week in week out for over two years.... both using 40grn Nosler BTs.... There is a considerable speed difference between the two with the swift pushing over 4000fps (slightly faster than the 22-250).... But having seen hundreds of foxes shot with both calibres using the s
  5. I joined a Facebook group the other day and the sh!t on there is unreal.. 4x4s packed with lads driving all over the wheat, chucking two dogs out the motor... They call it coursing...!! Then you wonder why police put helicopters in the sky.. It's because of these pr!cks..
  6. Just had a call from the vets. They sent the swab off to the lab and results showed resistant bacteria.. So they have matched the correct antibiotic to his infection... I thought it was weird that an infection was still present after a month of antibiotics.. Fingers crossed now, she said just a week on these ones should be enough to see him back to catching 3/3 (haha)
  7. Will get a pic up when I get him home from vets... He has been free to lick the wound but hasnt been obsessed with it.. To be honest after he had the nail removed he had it in a dressing for a week... We did 2 miles a week ago and it didn't bother him so I thought I'd try and keep some condition on him, 2 miles 2 days later had him holding it up again. That's when I decided we need an xray.. I'll do these two weeks of antibiotics and keep him on a lead.... I was hoping to have him running again by Christmas.. Time will tell...
  8. Just heard from the vet, she said xray looks ok, no fragments or foreign bodies, but could see that the very end of the toe bone was slightly damaged. Which she thought might have been the initial injury which knocked the nail back to the quick... I asked for Noraclav but she said swapping antibiotics can cause the infection to build up resistance. She said they will send the swab off to check the antibiotics given are the correct ones... Two weeks of them and see what it's like after that!
  9. Yea, where the nail was, is still open... It's not really discharging any fluid though.. I'll see what the results of the X-ray are, and if it looks like a joint infection I'll ask for Noraclav.. Cheers mate
  10. I'm booking him in for an X-ray tomorrow, hopefully identity the problem as either a fracture which I doubt as he ran fine after the initial claw injury, joint infection or fragment of nail or bone still in there... I might suggest if the X-ray is done under sedation and they find a fragment still in there, open it up there and then to remove it.. Save him going under twice... Fingers crossed, it's starting to get me down...
  11. Vet said she would have expected it to be more closed by now and the swelling to have subsided, so she thinks there is something going on inside such as a fragment of nail still inside or perhaps some infection still inside... She said the body will try to reject any foreign bodies inside which might work its way out, and if it is infection in the joint then the antibiotics which he is already been on for about 3 weeks would be the ones she would have prescribed!... So she said to wait and see what happens.... I just ran out of antibiotics yesterday... hes been on them for 27 days.. He did 2 m
  12. A caution is an admission of guilt and cannot be forced upon you. Therefore in the eyes of the police you have admitted committing assault/s....Its why you should always have a solicitor even if you haven't done anything wrong...Been there, got that tshirt...
  13. My dog knocked a few toes exposing the quicks about a month ago, all healed well apart from one which developed into a nail bed infection, as soon as I saw the redness and swelling appear I had him on 250mg of Alphamox antibiotics every 12 hours for a week while washing his feet in hibiscrub and salt water on alternate days. No signs of improvement after a week or so, took him to the vets who gave me some different antibiotics to try for a week (clinacin). Day 6 still no better so back to the vets, next day he had the nail removed and toe thoroughly cleaned and bandaged up, 48 hours later back
  14. Jack it all in buddy, It's not worth the hassle... I'll have that pup!
  15. It would be a backward step for me, I know that as soon as I stoped taking gear I would stop training, same as 90% of the lads that train in the same gym... See it all the time, someone starts training then starts getting bigger, bloated and all red in the face lol... Few weeks later the vanish... Then they come back a few months after half the size lol.. Your in decent shape, keep lifting and keep all of your gains... It's a slow process.. If it was easy everyone would do it..
  16. Have used one rip from pro chem labs, ran 1ml every other day for about 6 weeks. Stripped fat off me and strength went through the roof. I also was an emotional wreck and paranoid about everything.. Grumpy fecker too... To many young lads think it's a shortcut when I fact its anything but that... You are putting a massive amount of test in your body, so your body stops making it and when you stop and don't run ptc you have a huge drop in test levels when you come off.. That's when everyone stops training and starts acting like women... Backward step for me is taking gear. Coming from experie
  17. Am I right in thinking Rossi is still 7 points ahead? If so Rossi is still in with a chance. If he starts at the back of the grid you know he will be going for it all or nothing, There is a chance that lorenzo will not want to push hard and risk a crash which could mean marc and danni push lorenzo back to 3rd.....In that case Rossi would have to make 6th to win the title? Anything could happen yet... Saying that, how often does Lorenzo crash even when pushing hard. He deserves it as much as anyone...
  18. Hats off to those that are taking time out of their lives and traveling at their own expense for meetings... Those that are sulking about not being on the team, do something constructive and get involved! Like its already been said, put up or shut up... All I read about lurchers and coursing in the media is negative to say the least, we are all in criminal gangs bla bla bla... We've heard it all before.. Be a breath of fresh air to see an organisation like the CA defend and promote our preferred way of hunting like our ancestors have done for hundreds of years.. There will be a l
  19. Haha, knew you was an armchair hunter!
  20. Good post DB I can relate. I've seen the lion within my saluki lurcher,, not against me or my family, but he doesn't like people at the door, or strangers talking to me while we in the van.. and I love that, he never gets told off for defending us or his home... Wild little thing he was as a pup, but living in with us and loads of socialising has seen him turn into a confident we'll behaved dog. Very clever animal he is, if there is food to be earned and a trick to be learned, it's learned quick lol... Goes against everything you read about them really. Good recall etc... Mine is very much
  21. Two year old now, halfway fit, looking forward to winter...
  22. looks a nice strong dog, hows he bred ? Litter brother, cant wait to see him run!
  23. Nice weather down south yesterday, no good for hunting, to warm and the ground started to harden up... Left my house at 5am, two hour drive, started walking just before 7am and got back to my motor at 12... Covered 13 mile in 5 hours, reckon the dog did a little more... Some cracking scenery and some good sights...
