The Best Dog I Have Ever Had
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to Millet's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Best meaning working ability...While I think you can give 100% to get the best out of each dog, I think great dogs are born, not made by their owner. I know I made a lot of mistakes with my first dog (and learned a great deal), but thankfully none of which have affected either of us that much to bother me...Yet! So I can use what I have learned so far to get more potential out of my new pup....... But they either have it or they don't, IMO...So I bought the best bred pup I could... Could be a good thread this... -

Coursing thirst.
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to sandymere's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
I know this is an old'un, but very informative.... So are any types of dog more likely to get coursing thirst or rhabdomyolysis more than others? Obviously unfit types but as in breed types... Please excuse me for sounding a bit simple, but what I can make of all of this is that the fitter the dog, the less likely of either...Coursing thirst or the big R word? And after a long hard run, watch for excessive drinking (which should be aloud) and cool the dog down ASAP. Then if you see redish coloured urine or uncomfort its off to the vets... -
Chief gets it after running through wheat, it stays for a couple of days then fades away. I think its just an abrasive type rash? as there is no hair under him just skin!
-
Too true, even for a lump, he never fails to surprise me. As a collie x devotee(?) he's opened my eye's from kennel blindness I know that feeling! Awesome looking dog, how old is he?
-
That one behind him is quite a beast too....

3/8s 5/8s bull greyhound X a proven coursing bred dog? That sounds bang on.. Good luck with them...

What 16Ft Sea Fishing Boat
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to 2.8 guy's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
I had a wilson flyer (type) 17ft with a 90 merc 2stroke....I didn't know what I was looking at when I bought it, turned out a right dog, went out on it once and then sold it. The hull slapped loads, stable enough though and would fish 3 people...if I was buying another I would take someone clued up on boats that's for sure... -
A bulk bag of ballast and 8 bags of dust should do it, if it looks a bit tight, start chucking bricks in! Only a slab This is 8x4 and roughly 4 inches thick and because of the access I had to use the small bags of ballast, it took about 40 I think... Get an edging tool as well and run it round the edge when its half cured..

That dog needs burying no questions asked. That cat needs burying aswell, just for being a cat

Exactly as I said, it only goes to crown if you are found guilty at magistrates and appeal your conviction! Not only can't you read, but you also lack the ability to use any punctuation. I wouldn't expect you to know anything about our judicial system, except how to plead guilty, lol. I'll leave it at that. All the best to you mate.
-
I've not been wrong about anything. You obviously don't read my posts properly, not once have I said you get a jury trial in a magistrates. Summary offences will not have a trial in crown court. This is basic stuff. All offences relating to the hunting act are summary only. Go on the CPS website, search "hunting with dogs". Its all there.
-
correct. HERAY atleast someone knows what there talking about Andy, I never said you can't ask, but you will not be heard in a Crown, simple, because the case is a minor offence, sentences of a serious nature carrying a penalty of more than 12months in jail go to crown, your cocky nature should go down well with the jury or judge or wherever you end up, remember 1 piece of advice and that's the best liar always wins in court and there is no such thing as "british justice", WM Perhaps if you read the thread tidy instead of trying to out "gangsta" each other you'd realise he's not up in
-
I know I worded that wrong. How about, you could not be tried for the theft of a chocolate bar in a crown court because it would be a summary offence.
-
correct. Incorrect. If you think a judge will sit and let a jury decide if you are guilty or not of stealing a chocolate bar you are very much mistaken.. Like I've said its a summary only offence so it can't be committed to crown. The only way it can end up in crown is if you are found guilty in mags then appeal your conviction / or there are other more serious offences that you have been charged with...

Go on....

Maybe Andy97 could phone his solicitor to clear things up....
