  1. They all use big 4x4s and drive across crops causing millions of pounds worth of damage. With the use of high powered torches they blind the terrified animals then release the dangerous killing dogs to tear them apart. And then on the way home, the gang will often steal a combine harvester. Do not approach these criminal gangs as they all carry guns...
  2. Perfectly normal, ive seen pups do it with their first rabbit. Be warned, its addictive, Good luck.
  3. Only down the road from me... Let you know if I hear anything...
  4. This is all just based on different opinions. To some a dog that catches well but struggles to finish the job is not worth feeding but to others its worth its weight in gold...and visa versa with a good killing dog that struggles to catch... All this about being sporting when it comes to lamping foxes is bollocks, its about killing foxes...Don't tip toe around the fact...
  5. long as a train I think miles must have been so exited when they was being born that he pulled each one out and stretched them! Like baby giraffes, but bloody fast ones
  6. A couple of pics of Chief today, 11 months old. Been a pleasure to own as a pup and I'm sure he will be a pleasure to work! All ready for a few runs...See whats what in the coming weeks...
  7. That barrel will be burnt out after 100 rounds If I was you I would probably put the cross hairs on the fox and pull the trigger...
  8. I used to, but stopped a year ago. The price of a bag of dried crap gets you a lot of proper grub, and they shit 1\3 of the amount they used to...
  9. Lovely looking pup. Would love to see a pure run one day..
  10. At the first sign of a flea, mine get treated with Advantage. A vet said to me once, flea collars are not fit for there intended purpose, she said the only thing there are good for is once you have treated your animals with advantage or frontline, you need to hoover the whole house, cut a flea collar up and put it inside the hoover before you do. Any fleas or eggs that you pick up will be in close contact with the bits of collar for long enough to work inside the hoover... Stay away from any cheap bob martin stuff, poison a dog with that crap...
  11. If the scope was knackered and changing point of aim by itself, why does it group well at close range? I also assume the scope to be the problem, but like I said for the sake of a box of different ammo, then tried again with the mod off. Its just process of elimination starting with the cheapest first... That is if the new scope mounts are all OK?
  12. I'm no gun expert, I would guess it's the scope but before I weighed out 200 notes I would first try a different brand of ammo for the sake of £20...and also shoot a group of factory ammo with the mod off... I certainly wouldn't be doing all this testing with some home loads that someone else made up... Just a question... if the scope was f--ked why would it group at 25? Surely if the point of aim was shifting it wouldn't group at any distance?
  13. Was that still with the same homeloads? Did you try any factory ammo?
  14. Deker, genuine question, where would you use a 17hmr over a .223 I can understand you would obviously use the .22lr in gardens and anything 50/60 yards but when you move out to 100 yards plus, surely you would rather pick up a centre fire? If not, why? Just curious really...
  15. But then there is the age old argument how close is close? Do they mean to dispach foxes in traps or do they mean 50 yards. So if they will list fox on your ticket under .22lr tell them to leave off with that word "close"
  16. I imagine whatever your .22lr shoots well with will kill a fox with a 50 yard head shot. Mine likes Winchesters... If your firearms team said you can use your .22lr for fox get them to list it to your ticket if its not already...
  17. Im waiting on a .223 variation... Considered all other options and it always came back to the .223 I need a rifle that will kill foxes out to 200 yards, should do it cheaper and quieter than a 22-250 or 220 swift, I felt a hornet might leave me wanting a bit more on a few occasions. That left the .222 which would have been my second choice but Charlie caller said the .223 was a chav calibre so it just felt right!!
  18. I think I waited 5 months last year for a grant, about 6 weeks for a variation...
  19. Km2s, but go steady on ice with any mud terrains... Cooper St maxx are an in between at/mt I have bfg all terrains on my truck...
  20. Personally I would have took the mod and scope off, clamped the gun and fired 3 groups of different ammo... I know you said you couldn't today but that would have been my first step, it would have told you if it was the rifle or the ammo. Or neither ! Then if I got a group I would have stuck to the ammo that grouped best, then put the scope on and tried for another group not using the clamp, but using the scope... Then finally the mod and tried for another group.... This would have been my (ammature) attempt at the process of elimination.. But reading back about your mounts no
  21. Just to add a mate of mine recently had a faulty hawke scope on his .22lr, it was all brand new, when zeroing it would change poa all by itself!!
