^^^ Im looking for a working dog preferably so i'll find the game that suits my dogs size. I raise APBTs and i've since learned Its about working ability not size. but yeah im looking to get a good Patterdale in the near future so i really appriciate y'alls opinions. oh and im enjoying this thread too...lol

Texas. And I didnt say i was going to attempt to hunt coyotes with a terrier. my mistae if it came off that way. and if i was i have more then one APBT as well and im sure they can more then handle themselves with any coyote. and yes i have heard of men over here using Jagdterriers and Patts for coyote but its more or less blood tracking a wounded animal to finish the job.(dont quote me though as ive never been a part of this)

ok Dogmagic thanks i appriciate the insight thats what i was leaning towards as well. So Patterdales are the hardest Terrier as far as ground work goes? we have a Coon infestation down here.

Ground work hopefully. im not real sure about my options as im kinda a loner where im from. I own APBT and hunt with them but im looking to get into alil varmint hunting. Im from the Southern US and we have all kinds of quarry like Coon,Fox,Possum,rabbits, rats ,and Coyote..I have no one to teach me so im kinda at a loss but im determined and will find my own way if needed. I have owned a Patterdale but a mistake by my brother got him killed and ive waited for about a year in wait to find another good terrier. he was actually started and had drawn a coon but he was probably gonna be alil to bi

I know theres a bunch of hunters so my question to you hunters is what would you say the best terrier is at any individual job.. by this i mean what would yall wanna have if yall were Badger hunting or Raccoon hunting and so forth.. Jack Russell, Patterdale,Border, Plummer , or Jagd terrier? now im a complete rookie to hunting with terriers so dont bite my head off..Also which would you say a new comer should start with thanks again guys.

Whats up? Im relatively new to Patterdales and was trying to do all my research before i make a purchase. I'm looking to do some hunting but i dont know how to go about it. I do own APBT and work and hunt with them so im not new to dogs. any advice for a newbie on this subject?
