    I don’t think there is a best cross as such just try and source a pup from parents that are doing the job . Good luck in your search.

    I’ve got a double small Bow back Ferret carrying box sitting in the garage if it’s any use. I’m heading offshore tomorrow for 3 weeks but give me a shout if you want it.

    I’ve thought about this before and I think it’s a great idea. I mentioned it to the wife and she shook her head muttering something about being a big fecking kid, so it sort of died a death. But when I bring a pup on next a Tamiya is on the cards.

    If working only one dog for bushing rabbits I would go for a well bred Beddie whippet or something similar. Something that can work cover but has a bit of pace also, but that’s only my opinion. I am sure other people will have different ideas.

    Tbh you won’t catch a lot using just one dog, but as Neal says one catch bushing is worth more than 10 lamping or ferreting. It’s definitely quality over quantity when bushing. Edited to add that it’s just great to be out and about in the Countryside and if you go home with something it’s a bonus.

    I am no way knocking them, I mean they have been bred for different reasons. Totally different cultures neither are wrong just different.

    Bred for a different reason than excitement.

    Going Beating and following hounds has opened a lot of doors for me in the past. At the very least you get to know where the good areas are.
