  1. Hi all, basically after members of my family falling out with the neighbours, they've decided that they would like to drag me into the fued, and are apparently going to report me to the RSPCA for the conditions my terrier is kept in...... , now i know they will come and get nowhere as he is in a 7ftx7ft run with a concrete floor, he has an off the ground wooden kennel with loads of bedding in it, it has 3 walled sides, the front is a chainlink gate and a half chainlink fence, he has constant access to water, he's walked 1st thing in the morning, fed, cleaned out, then after work he's
  2. Our garden is full of the buggers, they go for the dog food, cat food, rabbit food, anything, in an effort to get rid of them ive put rings of salt around all the bowls and the rabbit hutches, also i found under the rabbit hutch/dog kennels they seem to live under there, come out at night, then go back so i hosed them off, and put salt round there as well, next day nice melted slug stains everywhere and like someone else has said, keep worming up to date, and dont leave dishes out at night,
  3. i agree, i would have thought that would solve the problem, keep us posted on wether it works or not
  4. If its a Rocky, im sure that is a Fourtrak not a Sportrak, the Sportrak is called the Feroza, my brother has a Sportrak, good little mortors perfect as little a hunting bus/off road toy, seats fold up in the back with minimal effort, comfy not too loud all in all good, obviously i dont tell him that and constantly say how superior my series landy is
  5. Cheers for the info tony, does anyone know any good sites that sell air rifles on for me to have a nosey at?
  6. Sure is buddy, so mine being a 72 is tax exempt, basically anything after 72 you pay for, thats the way i remember it anyway
  7. Thats a good idea, i reckon my budget will be around £200-300 maybe a little more depending on whats around tbh
  8. I second that, i drive a 1972 2.25D series 3 landy as my main car, for work the lot (mad i know), love it, the best thing is the waves and nods of approval you get for driving them, and the fact people give you the right of way all the time regardless as they know the brakes arnt that good , on a serious note, my mate had a grand vitara great all round 4x4, but apparently they can have dodgy electrics so watch out, im a fan of discovery's 300 tdi's, fuel consumption not too bad for a 4x4, comfortable, not too pricey, will go almost anywhere a defender will plenty of room in em for the
  9. Thanks mate, i think the air rifle route would best suit my needs, i wont be take huge hauls of birds, id be looking for maybe 10+ a time, this could increase if my snake collection does (it always seems to), id also be looking to get rabbit as well, my budget would be around the 200-300 mark i reckon, i was thinking maybe a rifle, some camo cothing, a net and a few decoys as far as equipmet went, and use any pigeons i get early on a decoys aswell?
  10. Thanks for the replies guys, i dont really have the room for a ferret as much as id love one, and my dog being a terrier isnt exactly the best dog for the job of catching rabbits although he does get them every now and again, like someone said the head is what the snake looks for to start feeding, if it goes the other end on a bird you can end up with a snake with a half mouthful of bird with its wings sticking out everywhere makes a right mess lmao, removing the lead wouldnt bother me if for some reason i couldnt find it, i could de breast a woodie/ cut up a bunnie and theres the dogs
  11. Hi all, im looking to get my 1st gun, i will be using it for rabbits and woodies mainly, i need a guna that will produce and exit wound more often then not as, the kills will be used for snake food and i dont fancy them eating pellets etc, so any tips on what sort of gun would be good as im not too clued up on models etc
  12. Hi all, this is my 1st post in this section, and i know very little about pigeon shooting so be kind lol.... anyway i work in the country doing some gardening on large country houses, the other day i heard somone out shooting, on my dinner hour i popped over to the field and there was a chap pigeon shooting, he seemed a top bloke and i asked if he ended up with any spare pigeons if i could have them for me, the dogs and maybe the snakes, he was more then willing and offered me 50, i dont have alot of freezer space so he said he'll give me 20, and he did, so now the freezers full a
  13. ive seen pitctures of a puma that was shot some where in the uk in the 90's etc, i do believe there have been wild big cats in britain, as alot where just released into the wild when the DWA regulations came in, and judging by the amount of prey a normal domestic house cat kills even though they are getting fed, i definately believe a good few the smaller species such as ocelots, european wild cats, servals etc would have a really good chance of living out their natural lives in the wild without ever being seen, but big cats such as leopards? lions, tigers, panthers... they are designed fo
  14. Cracking look dogs bad bob, i escpecially like the tan and black one hes a cracker
  15. ive always fancied a whirrier type lurcher, my plummer x lakeland is a quick little terrier and does catch rabbits off guard and takes enough to keep the snakes happy, obviously when their in the open or we cant creep close enough to them he cant keep up with the adults, if he had more pace though he would be a cracker, i always fancied a 3/4 whippet 1/4 terrier, that way you'd definately have the pace and hopefully would get the gameness of the terrier still in their, would also make them a little less hard mouthed, which i imagine a 1/2 would be
  16. Ahhh i see i always assumed it was, learn something new everyday, is it a recognised breed in the states? on the legislation for the dangerous dog act it says that a pit bull terrier is a banned breed of dog, and if the KC dont recognise it, what sort of breed standard do the authorities use to determine what is a 'pit' bull terrier and what are the differences between that and a legal bull terrier, or simililar cross type dog i wonder?
  17. Your staff if a beaut mate, my neighbours staff was at mine for 6hours the other day, it keeps escaping and they let it roam around until someone brings it home, its a shame as she is a lovely dog, but thats what i mean if they came into your garden and saw you dog they would take it for assessment etc, if they came into my garden and the dalmation was doing the same i dont think he would be taken away even though he's a good sized dog, great muscle tone, and all becasue he's spotty and kids love that film lol, the dog was a bit vocal when it was in the pen but i think most dogs would
  18. Heres my 2.25 1972 series 3 landy, its currently having alot of work done, welded the chasiss to within an inch of its life, swappped the back axle rebuilding the front this week, fit ploybushes all round, new shocks, needs the bulkhead replacing, giving the engine and gearbox a good going over and servicing, and hopefully getting an mot before the end of july so i can drive her to billing! then it will be a rolling respiration, full resray etc etc later this year,
  19. H'e a cracker, looks like he will turn out great, my plummer x lakeland is apprently from Pinsley Ace, the bloke i got him off said he was off a plummer called 'ace' summit, so i had a look around asked a few people on here and was told to contact matt/kate , so i sent an email via the website and kate i think it was said he was put to a lakeland, but thats as far as ive got cant get any details on the mum, but its neither here nor there to me, he does exactly what i want him to do, and is a great game little dog, heres a few pics of when i 1st got him; And now
  20. Hi all, ive just been watching 'crimewatch roadshow' and they have just had a section with wildlife officers and rspca officers, they arrested a man on suspicion of badger trapping and baiting, the bloke had some traps in his garden and admitted he had caught a badger once by accident and an officer said one of the traps looked like a fox trap, the man wasnt charged so weather he did or not only he knows, but his dog was destroyed, at first glance it looked like a pit bull, now if it was then fair enough its illegal etc, but its not that i have an issue with, its what an officer said t
  21. I think i might go to this, do you have to pay to go in? also can you bring your dog even if your not entering it?
  22. Ive had a few runnins at my local park, one was with a lab mix also, i had my plummer cross and the dalmatian was playing fetch with them, i use two balls sent the plummers one into a thick bramble bush and sent the dali's the opposite way into the rugby field, as he picked the ball up and comes trotting back this big lab mix nailed my dali and flipped it on its back, this in itself isnt an easy job, the dali is soft as a brush but is a big old 35kg lump of muscle, but this crazed lab made it look easy, i had my steel toe caps on and a really thick chavy dog lead (couldn't find the usu
  23. Does anyone know if there are rivers in north wales with these in? would love to give trapping them ago aswell as bbq'ing some...
  24. im not far from prestatyn, splash point is a good place to fish, its in rhyl, on the front right at the end of the promanade if you go that way towards prestatyn, or if your coming from prestatyn, you will go past rhyl golf club, then the crossroads just after it, turn right at the crossroads, youll go up a hill and the road turns left, thats the place, instead of going left towards rhyl park up, walk onto the grass and head right, past the house on the corner with the long drive, just head down onto the beach, fishing down there is always pretty good i know lads who have had all sorts of
