  1. Dogs bark and are generally anxious when they have too much energy. Run the hell out of them and I bet your barking problems will cease. A happy dog is a tired dog. Regards, B
  2. Might not be easy to change. That is why proper socialization is important from an early age. Some shy dogs will always be that way. Unacceptable for me as an owner. The advice here is on point but realize your dog might be too old or possible just the way your dog is. Regards, B
  3. Still looks a few pounds overweight for a conditioned dog in my opinion, looks a nice type tho. Was two weeks out. Heavy Chinaman/Bolio off Ch. Rebel Yell. Regards, B
  4. Digging in Washington State/Pac NW USA? Message me! Looking to start up a 6.5month old pup.

  5. Digging partners in the Pacific Northwest USA? Msg me!

  6. Don't want to steal your thread but here's one of mine. Year old and puppy fat on the left. 18 months and conditioned on the right. Regards, B
  7. I'll have to add it to my collection.Regards,B
  8. I appreciate the comments and feedback. I'm not new to working dogs. I've culled my fair share of non-capable workers. I've owned gamedog extensively over the past 10 years. I had to move from my house in the country on acres to the city where I can't keep a yard of bulldogs. I'm just having a VERY tough time meeting people that work these little dogs. I'm on the yuppie liberal side of the mountains in my state unfortunately. I have a lead on a JRT hunting club and am awaiting a call back. I know they hunt in some rural areas around here but mostly 2-3+ hours away on the other side of the mou
  9. I've raised dozens of puppies and found that positive reinforcement is the best way to train the dog. When these little terriers are so small it is our duty to take them outside frequently. Be sure to praise and treat the pup when he goes outside. I use the term "Hurry up" and he knows exactly what I'm saying when we go outside. He pretty much pisses on command now. You can't just ignore a puppy. Yelling or swatting at the dog just makes the dog want to hide before it will go the bathroom. They don't understand they are getting in trouble for going the bathroom, just think it is because they
  10. Good read! Thanks for all the info. Regards, B
  11. mine was 9kg at 6 months and at 12 months now he is still 9 kg sometimes 9.5kg. i That's what I've heard from everyone with small dogs. I think he'll be set. He's honestly chunky but I always like my pups to have enough calories so they aren't in deficit. I think he'll be under 16 lbs... maybe even right at 14 but more muscle and less fat. Thanks for the info masta of game Stuntman had me worrying for a second but I just double checked everything and I'm sure he's going to be perfect for the holes on this side of the pond! Kind Regards, B
  12. He's chunky now... you think he's going to be that big?? He was the second smallest dog in the litter. His dad is 11" tall and 15 lbs. Most small breeds might put on a lb or two after 6 months but nothing excessive. Have you ever seen a small dog growth chart? I expect him to be 15-16lbs and under a foot tall at the shoulders. Plenty small enough to get into the ground. Regards, B
  13. I'm working on it! It is harder than it sounds... LOL. New picture from today. He's shaping up nicely. 14lbs @ 6.25 months old. Regards, B
  14. Bad flea infestations are very hard on young dogs. It can also make them anemic. I would highly recommend buying a pup elsewhere. If they can't do basic care they have no right breeding or selling any sort of animals. Regards, B
  15. Here's his pedigree. He's from Todd Fulford aka Deadgame Patterdales in West Virginia, USA Kind Regards, B
  16. Hey everyone! Just joining to try and find some hunting partners. I have a Patterdale Terrier that I'm looking to start up. Will be browsing the forums shorty, a friend of mine suggested I try here to find some hunting partners (beagles, jack russels, rat terriers) I'm looking for working dogs, not showdogs so if you know anyone in the Pacific NW send them my way! Otherwise, good to be here B
