    Just back from a trip up North West Scotland. Mainly spent in the sea kayaks exploring various areas. Wild camping on headlands along the way. Very lucky with the weather and a great place for adventures.

    Looks like you had a great time. I liked Menorca. We went a couple of years ago. Im hoping to get back to kayak around the island and wild camp as I go. We’ve booked Majorca with the kids in July so hoping to get some decent snorkelling in.

    When I got back into the Lurchers it was mainly for lamping. I’ve ended up going down this road and it’s my favourite sort of hunting. My dogs still lamp and ferret but seeing them running and hunting on the hills is great. Get out where no one else is and let the dogs hunt up. I’ve seen a few different types hunt the hills. Start them off with a decent hill dog and the penny soon drops.

    I’m just about to go in the attic and dig my things out. I’m pretty much good to go but will be looking for a new sleeping bag this week. Hoping to get some good trips in over the next few months. Keep the adventure updates coming!

    I can’t fault my vet at all. She’s really good with working dogs especially the Lurchers. I’ve been in all hours and she even left a Christmas party to come treat my lurcher once. Not a lot of independent vets about now so unfortunately it’s all about how much money they can squeeze out of folk. As been said, unnecessary treatments, overcharging, unnecessary follow ups etc. Some of the bills I hear of people paying is scandalous. I was away from home a couple of years back and my runner cut himself bad. I did what I could to stop the bleeding but it was jetting out. Googled the nearest vet and

    Looking forward to seeing the pure work mate. I’ve enjoyed watching the pointer lurcher work this season. She covers some ground.

    Both my runners are saluki collie grey whippet types. It’s a decent cross for all round work I think. No fancy names but they have done me more than ok. Both totally different dogs when hunting even though they are similar way bred. ATB with your pup.
