Had a walk down the river tonight. My lad took this picture. Murphy getting old now at 9. Bit of grey creeping through on the muzzle and he’s started to slow up a bit.

Lad off here bred some lab x Lurchers a couple of years back. They looked nice things. No reason why it shouldn’t work. A lot of people use 1/2 crosses of various types. If you get the right lab and a decent greyhound then I think they would make a decent worker. My mate has a dog that is 1/4 GWP x lab. Uses it for most things, beating, picking up,wildfowling. I’d take a chance if that went over a decent greyhound. -
Just thought I’d bump this one up. It’s handy to let the venue know rough numbers and to let Kev know how many he’s cooking for! Be good to see a few new faces.

I bet. Hope to make it next year. I’ll be spending a lot of time up that way during the season. I’ve lived all over the UK but to me, that area will always be home.

Missed it this year Bosun. Got a lot of family in that area and trie to tie in a visit with the show. The pack from that area is great to watch on the hills. Normally a decent crowd that attend that show.

Yep. Heading up on Monday. My lad has been pestering for ages so I said I’d take him. Few my mates are heading south to it so I’ll have a catch up with them.

Loads down here at the moment mate. There’s a loan one in the Lyme Regis harbour area that’s been there for a few weeks. The pod we have seen is a good 40 strong. Not much mackerel about here but they are smashing the bass.

Me and the lad will be there. Also Tyla who used to be on here will be coming with his lad too. Looking forward to it.

Kev will prob bang up the info soon. It will be a great weekend. Me and my lad will be heading over as usual. Couple other lads I know are attending too with their kids. Hopefully see some new faces there. I’ll prob get there Saturday morning and leave Monday morning once the charity auction hangover has cleared!

Early morning walk. Nobody in sight. -
Some of them dogs have nicknames when deployed on operations Tomo. Once off the lead they are lethal. Brave, pure mentalists or or maybe a bit of both!

I’ve worked a couple of malis for my old man. Mainly search and cadaver but never PP. The dogs I was with were fairly soft and driven for the type of work. They constantly needed stimulating between searches with retrieves etc. All the other breeds including the herders seemed to just chill with their handlers. Great dogs to see in action but I’d never have time for one.

One of my favourite ways to hunt rabbits. Crack the flask and watch the dogs work. Great pic.
