  1. But you didn't answer my question, did you meet him, see the dog, or is it all hear say.
  2. I didn't say that but to was not a terrier man, did you ever meet him or see the dog in the flesh or is it all hear say. I'm not here to argue either and no not all lads that have that blood are in it for pocket but a lot of them are, and why you keep bringing up that one man as you say, only for that one man none of us would have that blood and then we would have nothing to argue about lol.
  3. Yes to bred him and 100s more, like a f***ing conveyor belt but he didn't give 2 fucks what bitch he put him or his father over as long as he got his stud fee.a friend of mine had a brother to him, lost to ground in the curragh, said he was a decent dog, he also dug over the dogs mother several times.
  4. If that's the dog I think it is then yes he was worked but not by tp.
  5. I remember that post3,Chesney a real honest post and he summed it up in a nutshell. I remember one part of it,ac never looked for recognition in the terrier game it found him through his dogs, lads can paint the picture anyway they like but deep down they know they exploited his name and all for a few euro, and these were all lads he looked after.
  6. I've a bitch here that would wreck your head, she never shuts the f**k up, and when out in the run just keeps running from one side to the other bouncing off the walls, f***ing lunatic.
  7. Don't try and twist it undertaker,I was talking about Neil nobody else, he never sold a dog in his life but gifted plenty
  8. If all men in the terrier game were as honest as Neil Cooney the terrier game would be a way better sport. He took his digging very seriously and defended it seriously, maybe got too caught up in it for his own good, he never had any time for peddlers or fly by night terrier men and rightly so. This is a good thread, let's get back to dogs.
  9. Good interesting thread this, keep it going lads, nothing else to do with this lockdown
  10. I've often heard it said, if your offered big money for a dog take it because if you don't something will surely happen the dog, I don't believe in that shite, if you are going to lose a dog then that's sods law, every time you put a dog in the ground there is a possibility you won't see it alive again, it's the downside of digging terriers. I have been offered good money for dogs but I always decline even though I have paid good money for dogs. We keep a tight little circle and only have a couple of lads a couple of days of the season as guests, any pups are split among ourselves. Some people
  11. What's the story anyway were the dogs got back, had to be seeing as the c**t that took them was all over the www
  12. I've lived in housing estates most of my life and still kept the dogs, only once did I get shut off dogs and they were cover hounds, b*****ds were f***ing noisy, gave them away to a friend from Monaghan. The last 3 pics that went up, not the best of pics but the top dog is the dog you bred false peds, big strong dog with plenty of work behind him.
  13. All these good dogs that were sold, why would lads sell a good dog, other men try for years to build up a decent kennel of working terriers when others that have them just sell them. I know in some situations it has to be done, but I personally have been out of work in bad times, split up with the wife and countless other bad times but I still held on to me dogs, to me they were what kept me going.
  14. Nice dogs them, a chap only 15min from me had that choctaw stuff, never seen it go but from feedback heard it was good
  15. We got the border bitch we had from lads in Cobb they had a family of them well worked, she was lost to poison on a local shoot, she was a very hard bitch at her work, she was supposed to go to a real good border dog belonging to a friend but she was poisoned before we got the chance to mate her. I like the ac stuff, it suits the digging we do, I think it's the most consistent line there is about at present, pity a lot of lads destroyed it by using it to make money. The man is a gentleman and has been in the 10.11 years I know him, lives to work his dogs, then others use his name like he is
  16. We had a couple of full borders down the years, one little bitch in particular was iron hard, truth was working borders were too thin on the ground to try and keep a line going and the last dog we had died after a hard dig.i seen 1 good half cross but that was it up this end.false peds did the ac blood bring much to your own line and why did you use it if your own line was working well,,was it a case of having to outcross. . . .
  17. I know of another man who put ac blood into his line and it produced the goods from a complete sounder. The off spring of these were bred again but working percentage is down big time, soon as he went out again the working ability went with it. I think I seen the bulls bitch in ml yard a couple of years back, well worked bitch, al owned her I think, could be mistaken.
  18. Judging by what's been said on here there was some very good dogs with that blood in them, but what percentage of failures was in it as regards to workers, honest question as we have some of that blood in some of our dogs and what was mostly there style of working, hard, mixer, just curious as what I've seen of it is without doubt hard
  19. If you know the breeding and the blood that's in time a bit of time doesn't cost much xs too many too quick and don't give a dog a chance, lads pts terriers 13.14 months old ridiculous in my mind.
  20. Just as well Chesney, the yanks would probably use the names in their peds, some good looking workers there.
  21. I think it's all down to a man's standards of what the individual thinks is a good dog, one mans rubbish is another mans gold.
