  1. At £850 a pup they wound want to carry spade and shovel and do all the diging as well.I seen people on here saying nuttal was over charging at £250,i paid less for gud well bred ghounds.
  2. That was'nt testing a dog that was BAITING A FOX f**k me read the post again, and to agree it was alright cause its allowed in that country.
  3. id let them run meself if i got 8... You know the sett and big fella missed it cause they went home out of the rain haha.
  4. You must know a farmer whose land you hunt that could fix you up with some.
  5. We had 8 in the one sett 2year ago. When we broke through the dog got blocked back and there was 6 in that pocket,we located the dog again and he had 2 more in a stop end.Very good sett always holds but like ftb we went to it a few weeks back and some plonker had dug it and left the holes open, fecks up the sett and your permission if the farmer comes on it.
  6. Theres actually two types of penstrip, one intermuscler and the second under the skin.I would give 2ml the full of a small syringe either way,it wont do any harm.
  7. Would you really take her, silent on a wounded fox for over an hour and still could not finish the job, then try draw it with tonges and another dog to train a young terrier, thats why people look down on terrier work, and every anti in the country reading this.f*****g AMATURES.
  8. heard a rumour this evening that there were several have been imported already and to expect to see some at shows in ireland this summer as a few lads now have them apparantly! Remember seeing them advertised in the buy n sell a couple of year back .An english diging man living in the tullomore area had them.
  9. My diging partner and i were diging down to a black dog this season at a dept of 7ft.It was only the dogs bout 6 or 7th dig and they were the tail end of last season so we did'nt really no the dog.Anyway we were down about 5 to 6ft when the dog came out,to say we were disapointed would be an ander statement.I then barred the hole and as it was only just over a ft i dug through and when i broke in there was the fox stone dead so the dog had done his job even though we had our doubts. So dont always knock the dog cause he comes away there could be a good reason for it.
  10. Did he not own a pitbull called PAISLY.
  11. I have two terriors both under four....i would put my life on it that they are both proven dogs because i know that they would never come of and every time iv work them the next time i see them is when i brake through. It's about knowing your dog and having faith in them! Let the dogs do the talking instead of people arm-chair hunting! No offence but you can never say never,at the end of the day a terrier is only as gud as its last dig,and they can come away for several different reasons.
  12. If im not diging to them i would far sooner see a gud hunt than to see a fox shot,it is fox control i know, but to me it aint sport. With a lurcher its either caught or gets away, but ive seen too many shot and still get away to die a long slow death.Idont go with hounds much anymore but it was nice to hear them hunt for a change.
  13. Used the ortovox only this morn,no bother with it more exact than the BnF,we dug right beside an electric fence with no interference gud locater for the price debon also gud.
  14. Was out with a friend today with his small pack of various hounds. He had 10 out and his brother in law had 3.No guns or lurchers involved just hounds. We got 3 good hunts, maybe 30 t0 40 min each time on fox,it was lovely to hear them hunt and all let run for next season, they even ran one to ground and me without a terrier for a change, but what the heck injoyed it anyway.
  15. DS i think anyone that puts a terrier to sleep after working hard up to old age is a prick.Just cause he came away when he was old he was termed as unreliable.Would you do the same days graft at we will say 80years old as you would when you were 20 i dont think so.If the dog in question was suffering yes, with pains or whatever, but not cause he came of his game.
  16. Not a lot,you have a prob with her goin to ground other lads have a prob where they wont go to ground.
  17. I think trout feed better at night, often fished all day and caught f all, then just as dusk arrives the trout start taking.
  18. A friend of KEVEN EMS from on here bred some EBTXJR bout 15year ago and they were halfx but all came nice handy earth dogs that worked very well. They were not over hard but quite capable of finishing a fox. They were also gud dogs to find in big places and were not at all aggresive with other dogs.
  19. Thanks, They probably will not set the world on fire, but are keeping me busy training them at the moment. What type do you keep yourself. Black stuff, also pattxbull and a very old wheatonxlakie all hard workers, have two young bitches to start next season. One is ALAN COCKER BREDand the second is a NUTTAL TYPE.We had a very gud border dog up until last season, but he died after a hard 8ft dig.Seen a few gud borders down through the years hard to beat them if you can get them gud.
  20. Like the look of them borders p3d
