Says it all what you mean MD.You saying you would let a fox bolt say after it killed lambs or game birds and wave bye at it,dont think you would have that permission very long.Nothing wrong with a lurcher for a fox bolting especially in places where a gun cannot be used.

Not all of us hunt with hounds SHAMO and we all dont carry guns to acomadate a fox bolting,so its handy to have a lurcher about especially when a fox is doin harm.A farmer or keeper would not be happy to see you waving bye..bye to a killer.I rarely if ever need a lurcher to draw the terrier will always be on top of it then its down to the man who digs it or the land owner if hes about.I would far sooner see a good lurcher work than to see a fox been shot,no sport in that.JMHO.

Wheatenx is as good as any bullx and i personally find them better to work with terriers but every man to there own.

wAS OUT 1 DAY WITH A MATE,WE HAD TO DIG SO WHEN I BROKE THROUGH TO THE FERRET SHE WAS CHITTERING OUT OF HER AND HAIR STANDING ON HER.I SAID NOWT TO MY MATE JUST LIFTED THE FERRET AND TOLD HIM TO PULL OUT THE RABBIT.HE GOT DOWN SHOVED HIS HAND UP AND STARTED SCREECHING LIKE A BANSHEE.WHEN WE DUG IN IT WAS A HEDGEHOG,MUST HAVE BEEN HYBERNATING OR SOMETHING.I LAUGHED EVERY TIME I LOOKED AT MY MATE FOR WEEKS LATER.

I meet him at a show nice fella. £800 a pop for a full breed pup ! ! ! and by all accounts theres a big wait for them, id be digging very fast to them at £800 each id cry my eyes out if I lost that to ground They are the buz alright buisness been the key word.How can anyone value a terrier pup at £800 pound unreal.

Samstorm we have a staff bitch that will get to ground quite easaly.We have had to dig to her up with her quarry a few times and have also used her when short in diging dogs.Not all sbt are big show monsters some still keep proper working staff's,and i dont mean any offence by that. -

Its illigal to net hare's in eire without a licence.unless your part of a coursing club that have a club licence,but very easy to do if you know where they are and there runs,ie..bridges..gate's..gap's.

Its not bad when you've only got one.Ive only got one old dog,but when i started this thread i asked what lads done with old retired dogs or bitches.What happens say a person has 3 or 4 around the 11 or 12 mark would ye still keep then and turn your kennells into an old folks home.This is not about me or my dog,he is retired over a year now and he is still in kennell.
