  1. update; had a call from them today around 3pm, they had heard a trap go off, on inspection they couldent see what was in it, I left it until 5pm then popped in, it was the mother squirrel have left the other traps in situ, although I doubt the remaining baby will go in search of them, now the mothers gone, Im not so worried about sticking my hand into dark corners in the eaves, so have told them I'll return monday evening, and see what we can do
  2. who did you get the price from, Im looking for 235x60xR15 cant find anywhere
  3. a story or comments on the pictures would have made much more sense
  4. I get mine off e bay, think the last lot cost me £10.00 for 60, which do the job well, as that works out to 6p per battery x 4 collars = 48p per ferreting trip, they get binned after each day, I did used to keep them, and test their strength out on a tester, but at that price, why worry
  5. there was talk about having a "good guy/bad guy" section link to for sale, to help members not get stiffed, trouble is, its all to easy to re join under a different name, although mods can spot it, it does take more work, so you can see, what would happen, but things may change
  6. go on then roy, put me down for one tin
  7. you did more than I would have, I only ever sell if they collect, and depending who they are, depends weather they are let in a shown around, or sold on the doorstep but to right, name and shame
  8. I was once invited to ferret a patch that these three "london guys" had permission to shoot on, they gave me a tour of the land and asked if it was ok to bring the guns out, to pick up any I missed, well all three pulled enough armoury out of the motor to start a war with, shotguns and 17hmr, lots of shiney bits, and dressed as though they had just walked out of the shop end of day, me 15 plus rabbits them 0 they could'ent hit a barn door at ten paces
  9. lads, put the handbags down, its certainly not me doing what I want, its me having a bit of respect for the "cheap, nasty, freely available, cheap as chips" ferret, that so many newbies aquire first and then start asking questions on how to care for too late, scroll back through the pages, you'll find a few such posts, alot of members moan at me for being to over the top, maybe thats me thinking to much for the ferrets welfare, rather than hurting someones feelings as for twiggy, its even easier to bring up the past constanly, rather than offering the advice twiggy likes to give, as per bel
  10. had the same happen last week, an established court containing a castrated hob and five jills, put a young hob in (16 6weeks) and one of the nicest j6ills went66 berserk on him, had thought the same. I walked away and left them to it, they aint the best of friends, but its a largish court, they are both still alive,
  11. first off; to ratsnatcher, rolfe, fidgety and tomo you were right, Im too cheap, but yes, we learn by our mistake's, and the most important thing I think I have learnt from this, is that theres a million miles between being your own boss, and doing a few jobs on the side, me falling into the latter god know's why, I didnt follow up with the good advice that I recieved from tomo on prices, when the lady rung me, my mind went blank, and had I quoted what tomo suggested a while back, I still would have been cheaper, but not too cheap anyhow, got a call from them around 5pm,
  12. do yourself and any ferret a favour, get some books on ferreting and read, read, read
  13. all land belongs to someone no permission means = poaching

  16. if you dont know the difference now, you never will
  17. well an update; customer phoned to say the squirrel was now taking a different route to get to the soffit, and had nearly chewed through again, I therefore removed the kania, which is attached to a piece of 6x1 and a mesh tube running from the bottom, and re placed it inside the loft space, close to where the hole is, this one Ive layed on the insulation, but normally fix to a beam, I'll be checking it friday,
  18. as stated, they have stopped its access at the moment, so that would'ent have worked although I have mk4/mk6's I prefer the kania's, even inside the loft space, so many people use their loft space for storage, a kania with a wire mesh tunnel is alot harder for a customer to "slip" and put a hand into, than a mk4 fenn
  19. no I charged for my time, and leaving the kania in situ, and the return visit, to remove kania and squirrel, but how could I loose money I have £50 in my pocket, and where's the "full" survey come from your on about oh, and it's spelt caught
  20. surely you mean 3 visits, 1 to place the baits 2 to check baits and remove any bodies 3 to remove baits
  21. I had a panicing lady ring me up couple of hours ago, they had a squirrel that was hell bent on getting into their loft, it had chewed its way through the soffit, but they had managed to chase it away and did a quick repair using a cheesegrater to cover the hole, anyway he/she was back within a few minutes, chewing at another area a few inches away, I quoted her £45 to kania trap it, she agreed and I was there within an hour, kania fixed in place and an inspection of the loft, and was back home within 45 minutes, if it's as persistant as she say's, I reckon I'll be collecting it this after
  22. absolutly no idea, have ferreted with people that have mk1 or mk3, never mk2's, maybe that's telling us something is he local to you, if so, ask for a test run, get yourself some new batteries and give it a try, £70 is a good price for a locator and 2 collars, but is it "too good to be true"

    joke

what goes, click, click, click, have I done it stevie wonder playing with a rubic cube
  24. think of the mk2 as the prototype for the mk3, that says it all, the mk2 wasent out very long before they ironed out the glitches and produced the mk3, a mk2 does not have the pin point control, at the end of the day, hopefully you will only ever need to buy a locator once, if you go for either a mk1 or mk2 and it goes wrong, your out of pocket, a mk3 however and you'll get a years gurantee, followed up by an available repair service should you need it
