  1. as much as Id love big bags (no jokes please) Ive had days when all Ive had is ones or two's, but was still glad to be out, lovely day, lovely sceneary and not indoors
  2. only use a mk3, but remove batteries every trip, Im sure I read somewhere that you should still remove batteries on a mk3m collar, the on/off facility was purely to save battery life whilst ferreting
  3. it only took "ted" a couple of days to figure it out, at first I was putting my finger through wire and pushing the valve myself, when he was looking, but he soon got the hang of it, you need to make a small air hole in the top of whatever water container you use thinking in "blue peter" mode, if you was using this on a ferret court, it wouldent be too difficult to cut the red bit so your just left with the valve, and fix this above a much larger water bowl,
  4. I tried a small dog crate, they were out of it within seconds Im sure bleach would remove any smells, save you buying one
  5. its to do with a new programme that Ianb is running, it measures quaility of posts, thus better posts speeds up reloading times, poorer posts and it laggs
  6. well I must be the exception, I have an extension pipe (1mtr of 30mm waste pipe) which saves bending down, used all day and it only needed filling twice, which at around £20 per 5ltrs, I reckon worked out to around £5 worth if that, the BIG DIFFERENCE is that although the smoke smells weird, you dont go home with a stonking headache which you do (or I did) when using a petrol engine, the difference is, no noise, so alot of places that may not want the drone of an engine being rev'd all day may well give you that permission,
  7. yup, a plastic carrier will do fine, stick a water bottle on it, and bob's ya uncle
  8. Nope never watched it. I take it the caustic soda and bees wax treatment is used on wood that is not going to be stained or dyed?? what about the scant or planed? its instead of being dyed or stained, beeswax comes in different colours, just you said "rustic" in my eyes, rustic means none of todays stains and varnishes
  9. theres no right or wrong way, its more a case of what suits you, thoughs of us that have our own freezers can fill them up with rabbits, skins on, others that may have to share the family freezer may find it better skinned and bagged I tend to give rabbits whole, complete with fur to the ferts in the courts, just gutted, while those in cages, I tend to skin and chop the rabbit into even potions, its whatever works best for YOU
  10. I presume "de sexed" is the same as our castration?, Ive got four castrated hobs here, bloody good for ferreting in summertime, as most intact hobs want to either fight or mate the jills, and Im not a lover of putting jills down holes that are in heat
  11. we visited a family friend last week, and I was checking out there rabbit's hutch, thinking what a good ferret hutch it would make a few days later the friends asked me and my missus if we would take that damn rabbit and hutch, as they had had enough of it, and they knew we had a collection of animals, ducks, chickens a rabbit and ferts, of course we were only too pleased to oblige, I picked it all up yesterday, and the rabbit which Im affraid has his days numbered, as TED needed a new hutch
  12. aint you ever watched "the salvager" he normally gives it a light spray with caustic soda, to open up the grain, then maybe a beeswax, makes it look rustic
  13. you don't really need an answer, as your there already
  14. if you'vre got transport, Ive got a trip planned for next saturday (7th) over this neck of the woods, will end up in harlow/herts borders
  15. why's there a need to introduce them at all we have chickens and rabbits, never let them "meet" the ferts
  16. have never witnessed ferret lamping before, are they fast enough to catch rabbits running
  17. cheers wilf, I did read something yesterday on another site, and realised is was a bad day, hardly a breeze at all, still got a LOT to learn on shooting pidgeons, but as I only have the one permission at moment to shoot over, it was more a case of getting out, rather than stay indoors
  18. because thats your personnal picture and you need to copy the url into your avitar box,
  19. the farms down in theydon, but it could have walked there thanks anyway for trying on the pidgeons, Ive got a few, plus a pheasant which will be enough to give people a taster, plus some sloe vodka to wash it down, Ive had to put off my outing tommorrow because of getting the garden ready for this BBQ so I know how you feel but it'll give me a good excuse to get out tuesday ,
  20. is it network rail, or underground, to be on either, legally you need certification.
  21. all you numb nutts, read the rules, theres no rules on incorrect spelling, just text talk, if there were rules against spelling, 3/4 of the posts on here would be gone
  22. yes you did type (shot first) but then around 4 whole lines on how this was your dogs first fox, to anyone reading your post, why would you and your mate, look at each other and say its your dogs turn next, if it was just to retreave a shot fox, no write up on any shooting what-so-ever
  23. Ive just read your write up (scrap bin) and its quite clear why the post was removed, and you know it too, so stop moaning about it, and next time, maybe think before you type
