feeding the rabbits to the ferts is a good use for them, a freezer in a shed keeps them well for the summer months

what collars do you have? the mk3m collars can be switched off, and therefore left in the mk3 collars cant, therefore you need to take them out I normally buy half decent batteries, around £15 for 60, and then if ferreting for a weekend, take the batteries out in the evening, until the next morning if I was leaving it until the following weekend, then Id bin them, and put new ones in on the next outing its not what everyone will do, but theres already a post in this section on someone loosing a ferret after an hour because the batteries went dead if you want to keep batteries until

also plod, think outside the box why just settle for farmers/landowners, try large garden centres/nursaries, they can get plagued by squirrels, churches/graveyards can be affected by rabbits, large schools/colleges with playingfields, again rabbits, make sure you have insurance from one of the clubs, then drive around keeping your eyes open, it can be easier on your confidence talking to a groundsman rather than an owner one of my first permissions was our local college, and a football club/pitches had only read the first page before replying, so had'ent seen members had said this

christ, this is an old post, as for that trap, its crazy the rules and regulations of the underground, what you can or cant do, the higher powers to be (lul bosses) complained that part of the cage could be seen from the platform below, and could we remove it so it went back to the office yard, where it sat for months, until I relocated it of course

I can understand the no locator needed debate, from older ferreters, but as with anything, times and lifestyles have changed, alot of ferreters are city/office type workers, who get out only at weekends, maybe having to travel an hour or so each way to get to a permission, rather than having it on their doorstep, therefore its just not feesable to block holes up and come back the next day, to look for ferts, thus the locator becomes a reality also, lets be honest, I bet ferret husbandry has changed alot over the years, back then would they have been classed as pets too, would they have been l

dont worry too much on the pellets, Ive fed stuff shot by pellet/rimfire and shotgun, and most times have then found the pellet left in the food bowl or other areas, as for feeding the ferals, Id only say, "from where" if country ferals then no worries, but ferals from city living do carry alot of nasty stuff, you can normally smell the difference, london ferals absolutly stink and really turn your stomach, I shoot hundreds each year through work, and have never fed one to a fert

my mate used to leave his dog on the bottom landing of his flat while he was at work, I had the shop downstairs, someone called those twats, they looked threw the letterbox, and said, the area it had (around 4ftx15ft) was larger than the run on one of their kennels, so it was ok, although that was around 15yrs ago

ferts are not like cats and dogs, no need to leave a gap, loads moan about the nylon collars, but as suggested, put extra holes in, and do it up tighter, also put collars on while in the cage/court for the day, better they get it off in the cage where it can be found, a new hole making it smaller and trying again, rather than as you have, losing it down a warren
