  2. just under 2 hours for me to get in here
  3. Im printer less at the moment and none of our local stations hold the full forms, just the address of the firearms dept in chelmsford, if they dont come by 2nd post today, I'll be back on the blower to the FAO
  4. middle of the park what happens if a youngster digs up a trap and badly bruises his fingers as it goes off
  5. a lots wrong with his keyboard matt, Ive just banned him for 3 days for his uneccesary outburst
  6. I am not trying to cause offece, but honestly it seems like you have a problem with anyone who isnt a full time pest controller killing vermin. trouble is, what a lot of "un qualified" people dont seem aware of, is the amount of paperwork involved in PROFFESSIONAL pest control, now the member asking the question has admitted to being told he needs to wear a respirator to enter the area, so in all honesty, how many members here, hold certification for putting on a mask, what I hear you say laughing, smug smile on faces, lets just forget that and bring the terriers in, well thats ok on a
  7. cuppa and buiscuits, cake even better, lol
  8. I think your either very niave or hoping their is a god, joined today, and asking for not only rabbiting permission, but FAC permission at that most people secure their permission from hard work, door knocking, phone calls etc etc doing jobs for farmers/landowners not associated with shooting, in the hope that their gesture will get that offer to shoot, not many people out there that will trust a total newbie with their permission... so you have a few choices, start contributing to the site, leave your own topics, add posts to others, fill out your profile with as much info as you ca
  9. you go from colour to sex hobs work fine together in winter months, or use castrated hobs in summer
  10. if you use if for kitts, then deffo moisten it with water, have seen kitts get dry biscuits stuck between their teeth before now
  11. cheers all, I had hoped that was correct, although they are taking ages to send me the forms phoned last thursday, e mailed them saturday, phoned again yesterday, its always "in the post", but cant see the post being that late
  12. thats so wrong, Im sure he'd catch it, before it hit the floor
  13. christ, that post brings back memories john
  14. am in the process of applying for my FAC, apart from being a pestie and therefore needing a rifle for work, I presume my FAO will ask what experience Ive had with .22 rimfire, now here's the question, Ive been lamping on and off for the last 3yrs, with a .22 rimmy owned by another member and on their permission, each taking turns at driving and shooting, was that strictly legal, with me not having a license, will that show Ive used a rimfire before, or drop me in deep water
  15. Ive had a set of vitara bullbars sitting in the garden for months now, unable to fit them, as its obvious theres a pair of fixing brackets/sections ?? missing just wondered if anyone here has a set fitted, and if so, if they can crawl under their motor, take a few pictures and put the pictures up on here Im then hoping I could pop down our blacksmiths and get simular made up... they are the black full width ones, if it makes a difference, seems they attach to each side of chassis, via the missing bits
  16. it shows that we all "dont know everything" I found out yesterday about the smaller cart sizes for cz's letting you shoot inside sheds etc lamping ferals is PERFECTLY LEGAL as pest control, I do it nearly every night on london underground, that doesent apply to other birds though if using a red dot,, Id set it on the crosshairs still, and just use it as a distance marker, unless a good price is paid for a red dot, they tend to be very hit & miss
  17. have never ever set the floor with dirt, although urban/town foxes may be different from country ones, as long as the bait is old and smelly, seems to do fine taking into account the first mesh is 8" long, that makes your trap look around 32" or is it just the way the picture was taken, Id say the trap needs to be at least, 5ft long
  18. as already stated, use that as your framework, that way, you only need, say 3 bits of mesh, 2ft square, to fix on sides and top over your bait plate/hook, as long as they cant paw the bait, the rest should be fine you maybe able to see, smaller mesh attached to left side of trap, even on 2" mesh I was getting takes from the side, it now has 3/4x3/4 in the bait area the chickens were let out the coop, after dispatching the fox
  19. well Im affraid you havent found what your looking for , you have however found a 6 day ban on posting, posting in the general section, it may have seemed funny, but theres enough crap that gets posted here, to let you put more up
  20. I would have thought a cz was a little over kill, way too powerful for sheds, wouldent want holes in his roof would he how about either a 9mm garden gun, or probably better a decent air rifle, head shots will bring them straight down, body shots they can fly around spraying blood Im presuming ferels are in there too for the proffessional look, have a partner, he's your torch man, lighting up the pigeon to be shot, then after switching off, until the next one, saves spooking the birds, he can also bag up each bird as its shot, before the next, saves missing picking up a dead one,
  21. if the mesh is 8"x4" its way too large, foxes will insert paws from the side, trying to reach baits, rather than entering the trap, resulting in lots of false takes
  22. update; bottle is at the testing station, picking up this coming monday, so it will have 5yrs on it NOW SOLD TO A PIGEON WATCH MEMBER, THANKS FOR LOOKING
