  1. gay ferrets Ive a few hobs here, that dont mind going up the muddy path
  2. well its been four weeks since my FAC application went in, so I phoned my FAO asking for a rough idea on "how long" Id have to wait before the visit, well after a laugh and joke, he's booked me in for this thursday better get some bread pudding sorted to go with his cuppa
  3. its amazing what us shooters can come up with, to use as decoys and save a few ££££'s here's my atempt at changing some american dove decoys into magpies,
  4. cant remember having to give a cabinet location on the application, just told my FAO where I intended to put it, and he was quite happy with that, he then took a quick look after it was fitted
  5. no ones looking at the simple solution here buy her, her own cabinet for a birthday/christmas/anniversary present, dont laugh, one year I bought my missus a sledge hammer and an axe
  6. Im sure any vet out there would love to take your hard earned cash for uneccessary jabs moral here; dont use your ferts for ratting, far better use a smoker and terriers
  7. in your first post, you state for shooting pigeon and lamping rabbits, its got to be a shotgun then, cant see you doing big numbers of pigeon with an air rifle as you'll need to let them land before shooting, a mossburg pump with enable you to shoot both in the air and as they land x 3 shots you can also lamp with a hushpower either buy a new mossburg hushpower 410 with both barrels (one normal, one hushpower) around £650 or theres one for sale second hand, either on our for sale board or pigeon watch, with both barrels for £500
  8. Ive just got a shooting job (shotgun) for every friday morning clearing as many crows as possible from a customers land, had bought a crow decoy a few weeks back to use in with my pigeons, but did notice yesterday, that the more dead crows I added to the pattern, more of an interest was shown... well my missus was just in the garage attic, sorting out the cushions for her patio stuff, when she yelled out to me and chucked an army kit bag down, low and behold, 5 brand new crow decoys, Id thought Id given them away last year
  9. posted this one up a couple of years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuCy30W3ckg
  10. so after all that, not even going to bother with the vets then
  11. sounds like you could get yourself in trouble over this, ok a feral is classed as a pest, but you need "good reason" to kill them, and also need to prove that every other step has been taken, to stop them entering your garden/property before culling, culling is always the last option now I know loads of people probably still do shoot/trap etc, without any of the above being taken into consideration, but if you get caught, and dragged up in court, trying to say "I did'nt know" is not a good enough reason to get off with it NO YOU CANNOT POISON BIRDS, AS YOU HAVE NO WAY OF NOT POISONING
  12. its the males, DRONES that dont have a sting,
  13. your going to get both types of answers, those saying yes, get her sorted, and of course no, just leave her be I think its a bit of an old wives tale, that "they will die" probably came about when ferts were kept in dark danky cages and infection found a way in via a swollen vulva Ive left jills in season, without ill effect in daily cleaned out cages,
  14. one of my better paying customers had asked me to trap some more moles from his very large garden, and to get rid of the "blackies" that seem to have taken to roosting on his property, well I set around four talpex traps on wenesday and went back this morning to check them, his father who I also do pest control for was there, and was chatting to me as I checked the traps, pulling up a fired trap, one young mole, then onto setting up a crow deek with a road kill rabbit, seems everytime I drive away from this place, the crows come down to feed in a field of his, even though they are used to load
  15. so was she out with your mum? or left in the house? as I cant imagine, someone breaking into a house, poisoning a dog, then leaving, removing all signs of a break in?? whatever the story, the vets would be the ones to ask, rather than here, do you have emergancy vets, we have them open 24hrs, it costs, but certain dogs/animals are worth it
  16. pm the member beechris, he has around 20 plus hives, he'll give you the best answer
  17. just watched a dvd that someone on here recomended, they were saying with rimfire, that the barrel should be cleaned every 100 shots, how true is this as I've heard that some give them a clean, once in a blue moon
  18. you mention in your buisness statement, "we" rather than "I" so I presume theres more than just you in this buisness, therefore cant the other person apply for the FAC
  19. you can sex them any time from when they are born, as long as the jills ok with you handling them
  20. even though Im a pest controller, shooting permissions have been thin on the ground, Ive got ferreting permission coming out my ear holes, but thats been it, barring one little farm in essex, where I can only use a hushpower, that is until this last few weeks, picked up two FAC permissions, a week later an old ferreting permission also gave me FAC permission, and then today, a mole job came with full payment, and SGC permission. think someone up there loves me...
  21. offers are for e bay, here it needs a price to stay
  22. I did'nt mean that, I meant the owner thats given me permission to do his pest control, is a customer of mine, thus Im getting paid, unlike some FAC holders that shoot for sport/fun
  23. sent my FAC forms off two weeks ago so my cheque was cleared yesterday, now I know thats not a gurantee of anything, but I phoned my land owner and asked if the FAO had been in touch with him yet, which was a no, so any ideas how they go about such stuff, if his land has already been cleared, will they still contact him to arrange a visit with him, thus getting permission verbally from him, or will they make do with a phone call would it hinder my application, if I was to politely phone the FAO section and ask a time limit?, as this is a "paying customer" who's granted me permission t
  24. welcome to the site, keep a watch out for the text talk though (as in your post title) as if you read forum rules, repeated usage gets warnings
