  1. you ask whats better, snare or trap, have you got access to a shotgun/firearm, because without this, cage trapping is useless, probably good to have to hand if snaring also
  2. I shoot loads of ferals on the underground, have often thought of ferret food, but as yet, never have, saying that, farm ferals are probably cleaner, so Id say, do what I do with london ferals, and then make your own choice, hold them as near to your nose as you can, then have a really good SNIFF, after this london ferals always get thrown in the incinarator
  3. so its not new, but secondhand, try looking on gun trader and see if they are fetching the same sort of money, you may not be a fan of them, but you could probably pick up a new hatsan for that sort of money?
  4. animals die for the weirdest of reason, simply, unless he wants to pay for an autopsy to check why, then he'll never know then answer, he could get 100 different reason left on this post, but he'll never be given a deffinent answer from anyone but a vet I replied to your post because, it's yet again a statement saying that if jills are not mated/taken out of season, they WILL die, which in my eye's is not correct
  5. and this is how the rumours start about jills dying if not mated, people making assumtions
  6. my eldest son took up tattooing around a year ago, do your self a favour, get yourself a yellow sharps bin from the chemist (free) put all used needles in, and once full, return to the chemist (again free) my son was an excellent drawer to start, so had lots of mates wanting free tattoo's whilst he practised, as those skins you get are nothing like real skin, he also tattoo's himself, now that is brave
  7. red mite were always a problem I had when breeding budgerigars, "johnsons" was the spray that always did the trick for me,
  8. you can just see the cat, as he runs off with my pigeon
  9. it's funny the way things go, but my first ever shooting permission, which I had tended to visit once in a blue moon, has now become my favorite shoot, alive with bunnies that no one else has got control for... anyhow, spent the morning popping a few rabbits, and getting to grips on scope distances, which do get better the more you use a rifle, Ive now got good groupings at 80yds, where as when I started a few weeks back, the 50yd'ers was around my best had to laugh, as Id caught a woodie on one of the heaps, not paying attention, he fell to a lovely shot, I then placed it on the pile,
  10. I sold my complete AA S410 TDR to fund my CZ, its crazy that you can buy a new cz, for the price of a decent second air rifle, although I still have to use the works air rifle, I'd never use one again outside of work
  11. why not raise the rear seat on supporting bars/blocks,
  12. when ferreting in winter, don't eat yellow snow
  13. congrats mate, its well worth the wait, still grin every time I take a shot
  14. he has told and told lads many a time and i can under stand him getting pissed of with it but stubby you put that there for a good reason pal. get it back up pal and warn the lads that post in the wrong sections as said it was there for a reason and a good one at that you'vre got a point mate, I'll make it visable again, and mickeyblue can re post it there
  15. I had asked for an open ticket on first application, when It came through, reading the first paragraph made it sound like a closed ticket, so I simply phoned my firearms officer, with a new piece of land, that wasent permission, but a pest control job culling rabbits, I had used the explaination that one off jobs were my need for an open ticket,so no need to wait for police checks, anyway, he informed me that if it was pest control, then indeed it was an open ticket and I could deem it safe wording as below; 5, the .22rf rifle, sound moderator and ammunition shall be used for shooting v
  16. its a catch 22, a fert nips and your less happy to pick it up and handle it, because of this, it nips/bites everytime you pick it up, handling is the key here, my daughter will pull kitts out at 8 weeks old, and take them to her bedroom to play, they soon learn not to nip, too many people think picking them up for 10 minutes a day, will result in a non niping, biting ferret, if you aint got at least a couple of hours spare per day, every day to handle play with your ferts, Id give up now, as getting yet another fert wont make any difference
  17. I tell you, this has really pi$$ed me off today. forum rules dictate that to sell livestock you need to be a DONATOR now I bend the rules a little on the ferret forum, as I dont like the idea of 100's of ferrets being dumped in rehoming centres, you wont find that rule bending in the dog sections so I then place two "pinned" topics at the top of the ferreting section ferrets for sale ferrets for free is it rocket science to notice those two posts and add posts to them I think not, yet constantly posts are added in wrong sections, now Im affraid I have a life outside of the

  19. is that where the saying comes from hare today, gone tomorrow
  20. f**k me a new memeber cant even ask to see ferret courts without you jumping on them with use the SEARCH button, about as helpful as f**k all just "search" for a reply
  21. when feeding birds, I always pluck the breast and slit the skin, did you try it that way?
  22. topics can be deleted for a number of reasons firstly, the poster/member asks for them to be removed as he/she may not like answers they are getting if a member starts to spoil a post, we can simply delete those replies, and leave the topic on view, but if it all goes tits up, its far easier to just remove it
