  1. vet should have told you to keep apart for at least 3 months, the tubes can still hold sperm after the snip, and if a hob aint shagging anything, it stays there and yes, tubes from snipped hobs can grow back/reattatch, one of mine did
  2. also, only make adjustments one at a time, ie get the vertical sorted before horizontal, dont try winding them both at the same time
  3. sounds like red mite, normally associated with chickens/pigeons etc, does anyone near you keep these as pets in garden, or have you been feeding the above to your ferts, they hide in the cracks of woodwork in daytime and come out at night (blood suckers) shows how important it is to keep cages clean before litters arrive, but do not try spraying anything now, as you could harm the kitts, simply go out with a torch after dark, catch them on wood and squish with your thumb
  4. are the ducks sitting on a pond
  5. was a good review, maybe get a video up so others can see it in action, its something I should have in my pocket, but don't, maybe Ill get the office to order me a set, as Im culling ferals most nights either by rifle or hand, the main difference I can see with this, apart from giving an instant humaine kill, is they look proffessional, so for any onlookers, it gets sorted fast, yes people can dispatch by hand, but its never 100% clean, I remember once being audited on london underground whilst doing a pigeon cull, doing everything by the book, two techs, fully suited up in white boiler suits,m
  6. its weird the different answers the poster gets, had this been a dog rather than a ferret, that was biting anyone that went near it, would the post be getting the same replies. have to say, if you have tried calming it to no avail, Id be inclined to cull it, theres no place in my home for ANY ANIMAL that bites, would want to take that chance, as we/you do come into contact with others, either in the home/garden, or whilst out ferreting, it dont look good to onlookers if you put on a welders glove before picking up a fert, and I hate to see it latch onto someone else I have 13 ferts at
  7. Id be a little worried about what your growing in your composted ferret waste surely you'vre heard that you shouldent use waste from carnivors (meat eaters) in compost, as it can grow bacteria
  8. thats your newbie brain get yourself insurance and talk to the farmers, as if the farmer dont trust you with ferrets and nets, you really think he's going to want you walking around with a loaded gun
  9. I love the shooting rest, is it removable?, whats it like while driving your permission, I simple attached some old carp rod rests to the car door, the rests are removable for normal driving, but fix on in seconds when lamping, means I can lamp alone
  10. as the above reply mate, plus there are no etched in stone times when it comes to pigeons, its all about getting out there and checking out, different times of day etc,
  11. you'll get mixed responses on these decoy's, bit like marmite, either loved or hated, but your've got it now, so you might as well try using it, get a bit of 15mm copper tube around 2ft long, hammer one end flat and cut a point to it (stick in ground) then find either a piece of high tensile steel rod, or fibre glass rod around 6ft long, a bit like those wippy lorry ariels place one end in tube loose and fit the top end to the decoy, you want it so the weight of the decoy bends the rod over, as the wind blows, the decoy will bounce, making real pigeons think its a pigeon coming in to land ar
  12. Ive always classed rough shooting as walking through wooded areas, therefore your looking at woodies, crows, magpies, rabbits, squirrels etc, still need to be reletivly quite and dark clothed, if your walking fields, the pigeons will see you a mile off, and fly higher and faster, not giving you much of a chance, if its fields you have, maybe try decoying instead,
  13. that looks a good spray job, not hand painted like mine
  14. yes, matt finish, nato green paint, plus matt blackboard paint, roofrack still to do, but getting good comments on it
  15. around 10 months ago I bought a tin of nato green, to paint my vitara, try and remove the hairdresser look well with all the good weather this last week, I finally started, rubbed the shine off the old red colour, then rad rollered it, cutting in the edges with a small brush, I still need to paint the wheels black, along with the roof bars, and also black patches over the green (dpm style) but its getting there, I think the pigeons could see the red vitz a mile away, even the wife prefers it this colour
  16. the slating I was reffering too, was your moaning at their prices, yet were unsure of what their prices actually covered and surely, the fact that they are high on prices is in your favour, as you got the job as for staff and there training, my training was via a firm called predator everything top notch, in the course of 4yrs the contract I work on has passed through many different companies, yet we get carried over included in "the contract", so now, yes I work for the firm you mention, yet trained and payed totally differently to normal staff, so dont tar us all with the same brush
  17. so your unsure of what the price was for, yet you'll still happily slag them off Ill agree with you in that their prices are normally way above what the little firms charge, but theres the difference, little firms can and will always charge less and mostly, do a more thorough job the bigger firms make their money from the large corpratives, that want the name and brand, where talking millions here, not £'ssss
  18. my question would be WHY???? do the laws differ where you live? as moving live rabbits to a new area over here without the landowners permission would be illegal, and cruelty to wild animals act would come into play
  19. your a little early in asking, as most ferreters wont be starting back up again for quite a few months, but then again, dont ask, dont get
  20. Ive cleaned this post up, as it had turned from an advice post, to "I know more than you" post
  21. you by any chance got a makers name for the sunroof, not been having any luck finding a removable one
  22. just because the jills are spayed, doesent stop the hob from doing what comes naturally, get him out into another cage, or he'll end up ragging them to death
  23. yeah, good idea whin, and we could bring in a ruling of no text talk on here, opp's you'd be banned straight away whin. see its not nice when people try singling out others, for no apparent reason is it
  24. fair point, but your dragging the argument/discussion onto another permission, in the opening post, the op described it as a customers garden, this is what I was basing my argument on, irrelivent of weather its surrounded by fields or not, the old saying, "the customer is always right" a stupid scenario, but say a customer asks me to clear a rat problem, if I entered into it just as a shooter and told the customer such, then Id feel free to shoot as I wish, however, if I went in quoting pest control, but then, did'nt shoot/harm any baby rats, as I saw it as UNSPORTING, would the customer f
  25. I think everyone has taken my words in the wrong text, maybe my fault for being a crap writer, or theirs for not reading it fully before seeing red firstly I have no problem with anyone shooting either rabbits or pigeons, do it myself all the time the point I was trying to make, lets see if it comes across better this time pigeon shooting can only be done for crop protection, ie pest control, but lets be honest, pigeon shooting is fun, even small bags which are in no way helping protect crops, but we still do it, and just stick the "pest control" label on it, Ive got no problem with t
