  2. am doing a weeks falconry course in tonbridge next week
  3. just filled the back of my motor up, cost me a whole £2.50 (good having mates rates)
  4. I suppose a rat would be the logical answer (sound like mr spock) we caught a glimpse on the other camera, of the second fox looking for its mate, although we have counted upto 14 foxes in our street along, these two seemed to stick together, so siblings? or a mating pair? theres a lot of glare from the light bouncy back from the chew proof cage, but you can see the fox is not interested in the bait, maybe smells? and the small pool of blood beneath cage? http://youtu.be/2hRt4fBJ-PA
  5. well, we have a HOUDINI fox, getting in from night work this morning, check traps, first one still set and baited, second one is end of garden, outback cam sideways onto it, bait gone and door shut but no fox, on checking the SD card, we have 4 moments of movement, the first three clips you can clearly see the door is still open, the fourth clip is me with torch checking trap, thats shut and bait gone??? bait cannot be taken from sides or end as smaller mesh in those areas, its a mystery, lol http://youtu.be/AKJQ_eSbe50 door open http://youtu.be/X2_85gwqIQ4 door closed yet no clip
  6. ok, I'm a PLONKER, the outback cam's for some reason, being me were not set to come on until half ten at night, as all the video footage was caught after 11pm, yup you guessed it, both foxes turned up at 8.30pm, one in the trap and one hanging around, anyway, after dispatching the fox I've re set the camera for 6pm till 6am and re baited with salami sorry bout the picture, crap phone
  7. yes, thank you socks, the ply idea is a good un, will deffo try it
  8. well, no catches as yet, but foxes haven't been back either, as the trail cams show no movement, also have three cctv cameras that capture and record movement, I think the snow has put them off Im sorry if my wording, or the way it was typed came across wrongly, it was not intended like that, its just each pest job/species in different, depending on areas, undoubtedly some areas the traps need covering, here in essex/east london (most essex foxes are in fact RSPCA released victims, dumped here) I find its not needed Im contracted to do pest control for london underground, solid paved p
  9. how was it out of order, an opinion was offered I simply told the truth that I rarely cover floors, I wasn't being funny or lying, and because I left an honest answer, get slammed for it, what am I supposed to say, thanks, I'll cover the floors in future one of many pictures of uncovered floors, if they are hungry, they will enter, the chickens were let out after the fox was shot
  10. dunno, I married a yorkshire lass don't get upset bout it, would you have preferred me to say, thanks for the advice, I would never have known that, even being a full time pestie
  11. the kids rabbits, although these rabbits are nearly as big as the foxes, reckon the would put up a fight well, people say that don't they, maybe Essex foxes don't read those rules, as I've caught and shot around 15 foxes in these two traps, rarely covering the floor
  12. yes, I thought it would be good, to get video from inside one of the traps, but thought a caged fox might chew the camera, so made up a little anti-chew cage for the outback cam to sit it then fixed at the rear of trap, just offside of my mrs tea (steak) oh well, she can have beans on toast instead, lol Ill place the other cam facing the entrance of the other trap, hope to get footage from both, thats baited with steak too, all I had to hand with this weather
  13. after catching this pair on the new outback cams, lets see if we can entice them into the traps tonight http://youtu.be/E4vfNp8EKTU http://youtu.be/faxOpF_Q-D8
  14. yes mate, very illegal, just look on the general licence, of course, if you meant you were using electronic calls, whilst taking pictures with your camera, then that's perfectly ok
  15. possibly, the manuels cost around £100 but are normally in with the course payment, most that pass hold onto them, they are a good thing to refer back to because you always forget things, trouble with picking up an older copy though is laws may change, book gets revised etc money wise, I think in the london area, normal pest techs start on around £19 to £21k a year, depending on the company they join, small firms are better I think as you can get pay increases quicker, I started with a small firm on night work, got my money up to a really decent level, then got transferred to a big firm, t
  16. I charge £90 for garden moles, 3 visits, irrelevant of how many are caught, money paid on first visit, I think alot of the undercharging, comes from hobbyist pest controllers that go in cheap, with the hope of getting shooting permission
  17. you pay ya money and take ya choice not knocking a qb78, but aint it a chinese copy of a rabbit stopper
  18. if someone gives you permission, then they should also give you a map of the land they are giving you permission on, thats how you know not to go over anywhere else
  19. when you "sign up" as you say, you either do distant learning over a few months via the net, they give you stuff to read, you write stuff back, get marks, end of that sit the exam at a named college/school etc, or you do the direct access, go away for a week, intense learning/studying, sit the exam on last day (along with those who did distant learning) when you pay for either course, your given all the learning books you'll need to pass mainly (unless its changed) the ADAS pest manual/bpca its the bible of pest control
  20. Im sure they put it there for a reason when they developed the gun, not normal to add bits that are of no use
  21. well, I must be the lucky one, although she is a Yorkshire lass, lamping in the 4x4, she's my picker upper, she's happy to run across muddy fields to pick up rabbits, give their neck an extra tug if need be, she'll happily stuff her pockets with apples if on magwitches permission,
  22. can you not take the dog out with you? seems a long time for a dog to be crated day and night? I'd bloody howl too
  23. nope, just a few seconds with links to the other videos, mentions me as a pigeon watch member, unit for £52.50
