    She definately has the make and shape of a deerhound bred pup. I'd be surprised if she doesn't make around 25 inches at least.

    ?? I'm guessing it's because a lot of farm walls have a ditch or drain alongside and "ditch" means the whole thing. Wall ditch and any hawthorns (or shcocks as they're called) that are growing on the wall but a plain wall is still a ditch.

    Albino ferrets called "greyhounds" in Ireland too. That one surprised me when I first came over. Oh, and a stone wall is called a ditch here in West Cork. Just different names for things.

    For over 40 years now I've kept collie crosses and still like them a lot. A few years ago one of my sons got a bull terrier and I found him surprisingly intelligent and responsive.I now have a 10 month old pup with 1/4 pit in him and he too is very bright and responsive though in a different way to my collie crosses. As a man with a lot of experience of collies, how would you say the 2 breeds compare as lurcher breeding material.
