I know a few people that do remove the barrel band. The stock can/will swell and contract depending on weather conditions and alter your zero.By removing the band or the o ring this will prevent this happening. The barrel is 16mm dia and does not need the extra support.
Try it out and check your grouping.
A great club.
If new to air rifles it would be wise to visit a club first. At MAD they are a friendly lot and will offer good advise and even let you have a go with various rifles, before making a possible wrong choice.

A standard AA butt pad is held on with 2 phillips screws.
1 1" from the top and other 3/4" from the bottom.
Slide the a screwdriver through the pad and find the screw head.
Their is a small slit in the pad but is hard to find as the rubber hardens after a while.
Hope this helps.

Shooting,ferrets,dogs and alot more.
I'll be there helping with the Shooting.
I'm new to ferrets and the wife bought a corner shaped litter box for my 2 hobs.
A small amount of cat litter in it and they use it 99% of the time.A great time saver and reduces the flies.
Hi,i believe the the hw45 has a 12mm rail. Most rifles and pistols have an 11mm rail.
I have heard of people using/adapting weaver rails or in the states they sell split mounts to help center the scope.
Evening all.
Joined today to expand my knowledge on ferreting mainly.Got 2 kits this year with a view to using for rabbits.
I shoot air rifles for hunting and competion level.
Look forward to browsing the site.
