amazing, I've seen adders a good few years back but not recently, black adders up north of Scotland, its thought they're black so they can absorb the suns rays, hope to see them one day
You make good points there pete and some mutations are crackers but there's a but
there may come a point when somebody wants to just buy a pure goldy, greenie, redpoll etc to breed and they may find it very difficult to find any which don't have a mutation in there genetic make up, not a good thing imo

no you're not doing anything wrong gnash but if you've rung your youngsters and keep a record book with dates bred rung etc it gives you peace of mind if you were to get a knock on the door

The cock bird is a lutino (yellow) bird Pete.. the hen is a normal green i also have a satinette coloured hen and i can't wait to see the colour of her chick's..and i suppose they will jump the nest when older if disturbed like there wild cousin's..
