I have friends (& not so friends) that do "Falconry" on landfill sites,sounds glam as its youre hobby but it can be a shitty job,sure its good flying falcons at gulls all day and depending if youre contracted or sub contracted i know of earnings in the region of £12k - £20k,but it is hard and mucky as one day i went with a friend to see his saker falcon fly at gulls and i stepped on a bag and it exploded showering me in nappys and shite,nice! Plus you have to contend with needles etc,plus the mortality rate of falcons in this enviromeant is very high due to accidents on the landfill.Fly

I have friends who fly their Harrises out the car window at gamebirds,corvids and the odd gull,one friend has a small peruvian female that he just concentrates on pheasants with and each seaon takes around 60 head of feathered game,and not muggings either.

Very interesting thread guys,thanks; In my district of Lincolnshire i border the wolds and fens and i venture onto the open arable land quite often and the area has no woods or proper copses and yet Roe and Muntjac arent scarce and at times ive flushed them by accident from dykes/ditches and tall crops.As i said this part of "my" land has no cover as such yet home to a good resident population of these deer.
