  1. Mine live in the house, mostly down to the missis, she likes the company, plus our daughter loves playing with them. Sometimes wish i'd stuck at it kept them outside but im a big soft shite i suppose!
  2. All 3 of mine! It even took them a few outings before they caught ought! Wouldnt worry if they dont mine were extremely slow on the up take, but now they are cracking lamping dogs.
  3. Im not suprised your shoulders ache, nice one pal
  4. I started last week, weather has been perfect round here, windy, cloudy with a bit of drizzle, plus plenty of decent sized quarry and lots of them!
  5. two of my dogs hd them removed by the breeder as pups, but the other one has HERS and can occasionaly catch and tear it whilst turning on quarry, although it doesn't happen too often it does happen and can be painful for the dog and frustrating for myself as it can put them out of action for a wee while (sods law it start of the season!). Im considering having it removed
  6. Sounds like it to me, one of mine pulled a muscle lamping the other night and he's doing much of the same, its annoying as it so early in the season, in a week or so mine will be fine i reckon, key is not to rush as this could result in them being out of action for a lot longer!
  7. Bloody hell, i bet you're pleased as punch with a catch like that! sounds like you've a good set of dogs there!
  8. A dog we had when i was younger did a similar thing, made a full recovery with time, but it was my dad that took a while longer to get over it with the hefty vets bill!
  9. Nice looking dog there mate
  10. Last night had the making of a perfect night for the lamp, nicely dark, windy and a slight bit of drizzle, 20 mins in.....bam! The heavens opened, 1 hour in and had to call it a day, far too wet! Anyone else had this problem last night?

  22. I have a 400,000 candle strength lamp, which will do for around where i live as the feilds aren't that big, but im starting to venture further a field and it doesn't quite have the power. I bought one off ebay that claimed to be 1000,000 candle power but turned out to be a sack of shit! Any suggestions or recomendations would be a great help, cheers
  23. sorry for the late reply guys, the dogs are pretty much of a similar size and age, like i said he other 2 are fed the same exercise the same (tho the dof does slightly more in lamping season) and look healthy, the whippet from above looks massively over weight or heavy on the collie chart, i dont know if this has anything to do with her being a pedigree in relation to being spayed as the other cross is fine, they all feed together but maybe its an idea feeding the whippet seperate, is 300 grams enough or too much for a dog out of season, cheers guys
