  6. You need to go to protrapper.co.uk there are other people, but I am at work at moment so unable to find there names, you can buy em from steve via eBay. he does occasionally contribute on here,he would be the one to ask who the British importers are,
  7. Trapline,Yes mate they do they go up the run either way set in two's very easy to use and very affective, I use em in public areas , ie close to paths, Another good one is the nomoll trap put em in and make a small map so you can refind em and cover em right up,
  8. Thats early,I will have to get my hob moved, wonder if its weather related cos its very mild up here at the moment,
  9. yep guts gone, id bet badger. Dont forget the marks on the neck ,could be from the snare its in,
  10. soft bits gone mate, its taken the guts out I would suspect a badger, probably disturbed,at the time suprised it left the back end,
  11. Thats a bonny animal, you are describing this dog to a tee mate its almost like he can cope, with one person shooting but gets anxious,if they are more he works really well one on one,for me I took him back home to the new forrest, last wk to his owner, and while we were walking him with my too dogs,he started to compeat with them, walking maybee 45 yds in front of the front dog then scenting up wind, his work rate has changed he works really slow and deliberate now, theres definately a line between work and play, I took a roe deer, which ended up in the edge of a small river the dog was superb, sent
  12. Hi can anyone tell me the best way to season hazel sticks, I am at present on the edge of the new Forrest, and I have taken the opportunity, to cut a fare few sticks for making quickset long-nets, normally I would leave them in the shed for twelve months to dry, but would they season quicker in the green house or would they dry too quickly, can I ask how do you do it, what is the best way???
  13. That's Superb thanks for that, I was thinking of using old roses tins, and a 60 wat bulb, having once seen a incubator made in a similar way any advice or ideas are welcome, thanks can I ask if any one knows if rabbit meat can be used, for jerky
  14. Well I seem to have made progress with this dog now, last few days,he has retreived his first duck, squirel, peasant, all shot over him,I think the corners turned, no sign of gun shyness as such maybe a minor change,in his body language but that soon disapears, had him pointing deer this morning then shot a pheasant over him, Generally the dog is starting to work well,on his own and confidence is building,I thought I would take time to update the people who replied, thanks for the advice
  15. My dog is nine month old, but he still is only watching the ferreting nets,he has had a couple of short runs on lamp, but wont get any thing proper till next yr depends on the maturity of the dog, asked the same question myself a lot of conflicting opinions, this is him watching the nets,a job he truely loves
  16. Thers four by me, been in same 5 or 6 field for last few yrs, they are by the motorway and theres a traveller camp near them, but still they prevail,
  17. It would be interesting to see if the colour helped the dogs see it better, good looking net mate,I like the bottom resonably slack mind to follow the ground better, but each to his own, best of luck
  18. I would just find enough evidence, and report him get his name in the papers that will do the trick, and probably labtastic is right, and I shouldnt let things like that wind me up,he probably is all mouth a very insecure individual, really do hope the dog comes round and all the best mate
  19. He wants a good s***k or reporting to bobby the tw*t should of dropped him right there and then no excuses paddy. wanted to get paid at the end of the day, hes not liked round here tbh, and dropping him would only make things worse for lads with lurchers Drop him,Anyone who would poison and give threats to people is a tw*t,thats the sum of it,theres laws around the use of poison, and shooting dogs, idiots like that for my part can do there own work,I know it puts you in a funny position living there, but I am from a very strong moral background, and where I come from If you shot a dog
  20. Had both calibers, now looking to buy a 22 rim, alot quieter around live stock the 17hmr still has,the sonic crack, horses react to them, problem with the 22 lr is they can ricochet more, you have to be carefull sometimes,I think there is more meat damage with 17hmr,however they are flat shooting, but prone to wind, deadly on grounded crows, and a bit more affective on the odd fox, however ammo alot more expensive than 22 lr,both very good guns and I will keep my 17 hmr as well as any 22 lr I get hope this helps atb darren

  22. well my ducks I feed twice a week and shoot em once a fortnight, start feeding late august,I put feeders out for the pheasants but shoot more squirels from them,I use barley for the ducks, and wheat for the pheasants,
  23. You will need to go round it very carefully, start with the mounts, are they the right size for the scope, are they secure, check every fixing very carefully, centre your cross hairs wind the windage right over to left, then right over to right, and count the turns, then half them back to the centre, same with the elevation, normally then with a rifle I would remove the bolt and barrel sight it to a target at about 15 20 yds, also go around the barrel bedding, moving a piece of paper between the barrel and the stock to make sure its free floating, once happy with that silencer off clean it and replace m
  24. When we used to sell them to the game dealer he insisted we left the gutts in,and said the were going to poland,I would have thought they had enough over there, If we were eating them ourselves, we used to gut em straight away and empty the chest just as you would a deer, get as much blood out as possible, really top meat to eat mind a good plate full, really nice used in a curry slow cooked,
