  3. So is it fair to assume that I could just use normall yeast nutrient then and leave out the oak granules,

  6. Thats a goog looking dog, I have a black one very simillar, mines well built but not fat I know I will have to watch him as he gets older, however the rate the lurcher and spaniel play with him, cant see him ever getting fat,
  7. It's not the dog mate it's the owners incompetence, some of them want prosecuting for cruelty letting a dog get that bad
  8. Has anyone any idea if protrapper will be internet trading again,I have tried to order from them to no avail,Or do anyone know any alternative site I can try, I am looking for a decent snare anchor system, and wanting to try some fox lure,

  10. I had a problem with mine retreiving, and was fortunate enough Skycat put me onto tug training, something I cant thank skycat enough for, contact skycat on here mate it works I am waiting till the season starts proper,to judge it properly but mine did two retreives last wk,no probs,The training itself will go against everything you have ever been taught about training,But it works very well mine was very possesive,if you have no look contacting skycat pm me and I will see if I can forward the stuff she sent me, good luck Darren

  12. Hi mate thanks for that, just come back weather been poor to say the least, managed a few brownies trolling on Ulswater, not bad to say I have never trolled before the little boat was good old seagull pushed us around well, need to work out this trolling game a bit better and I might have a go at char if I can find any info on catching them,Cheers Darren
  13. I agree with scramble, 4 oz to be honest if you do your home work when setting at night you won't have a problem , both will tangle until you get used to using them you will probably. Focus on one or two good drops a night and you can untangle to your hearts content in the daylight, it is better mind if you can lift them cleanly after every drop, good thing to do is to watch your setting hedges closely, keep then tidy, yourself if possible it all helps
  14. I would make my own from sheet netting, it's easy enough to do ,do one traditional and one quick set ,practice with both you will soon realise which is the one for you, you will get the instructions off of here easy enough and save good money by doing it,good luck
  15. Take her to vets, mate seriously, if only to find out why she is not comming into season, you never know it might be nowt, but risky gamble
  16. It's good to see the photos of them trying to take the cats maybee the antis will believe us now, stop blaming the lurcher lads when the towny cat population drops
  17. I have a right handed auto I myself am left handed , to be honest I shoot the right handed ones better, and have tried both so it is down to personal preference you get used to the cartridge ejecting across the front of your face very quickly, I like the semi auto, and wouldn't hesitate to use one my son is also left handed and he uses mine all the time he loves it
  18. Char Ferry nab is the only launch point on the lake now , you can still get day permits I think , rather than registering for a year , depending on how big your boat is , I can let you know if thete is anywhere else suitable for launching. Pike are hard to catch on windermere , beacause of the sheer size of the lake , esthwaite water and coniston are easier , esthwaite is hire boat only , coniston is far more accesable Superb, thanks for that I would only be launching a small 14 foot aliminium boat with a seagull outboard engine, what are the pike like in coniston,???whats it lik
  19. Cheers mate, as far as I can tell you have to register your boat with the council and get it a number annually, you will have to shop around for the launch if I find anything out I will let you know,
  20. It makes you wonder if the question of there existance in the wilds of england will every be properly answered, I have often heard news of sightings,I have lamped and stalked for years and never seen anything that could not be explained as for using dogs on em I value mine too much,
  21. This wine I have tried plenty of times and it is a nice medium dry white table wine, 3 Large elderflower heads 1/4 pint of white grape concentrate 2 1/4 lbs/1kg of white sugar 1tsp/5gr citric acid 1tsp of yeast nutrient 1tsp/5gr grape tannin or a cup of strong tea wine yeast Check before you pick the flowers that they dont smell catty, They should have a light fragrent smell if you pinch one of the florets and smell that will be the smell of the finished Wine, Allways pick on a sunny day when the flowers are fully open,Strip the florets from the stalks and put them in a bucket
  22. Shes still very young dont get her over hot, remember they are easy enough to get going, they can be swines to stop concentrate on sitting give her time,I think two weeks is too soon to worry about how she hunts if I am honest, try walking her up a quiet road, something with a pronounced curb clap your hands and cast her off to the side of the road,as you do this walk towards a curb say at 45 degrees turn you body so in her eyes she will be at the side of you,as she gets to the curb spin on your foot and head back to the other curb clapping your hands clearly and cast her towards that direction,do
  23. How long you had her,?????????? have you tried her between two fences where she cant get around you,?????????when she is working is she constantly looking for you ????????how old is she ??whats she like with the gunfire ???how confident is the dog, some times things like this can be caused when they move home, it knocks there confidence and she might want a bit of time to settle,
