  1. I am going to have a look this wk I was with BDS is that a discount rate ? Ie are you a member of them ?
  2. What do they charge Benbhoy, i like there work too
  3. Cheers mate, I don’t do Facebook, any idea on what gear to take ?
  4. Hi can anyone give me some advice, I am away up to Durness in October time, I have never really beach casted, well a little a long time ago, firstly what’s worth fishing for up there in October time, what’s sensible gear to buy for the area, and any method advice would be appreciated.
  5. I have tried one and they do work, you have to control the direction the fox approaches the trap in, ie it needs to come in directly facing the trap, also they have to be staked securely as when they fire, they release a lot of energy , and all that needs to go forward pushing the wire, good to try when you have a trap shy fox,
  6. Drill a few holes in the box back, to let the air flow across your trap bait, moves the bait scent around better,
  7. You can, it’s only done to stop the soil getting under the pan, right time of year a decent sized dock leaf works for me
  8. It was under £100 but it was along time ago maybe 8 yr back now the 223 was, I believe 24 or 25 inch barrel and as I say mine was taken down to 19 inch the picture shows the 223 above the hornet, which has a 21 inch barrel the hornet case marks the original barrel length of the Remi ,
  9. Well I tell you I had all sorts of people saying about loss of feet per second but it doesn’t add up, not that I am saying you don’t loose FPS , but it is minimal and I have noticed no change in point of impact, I shoot 22 hornet in day time, and I kill regularly out to 200 yds, which I was told was it’s effective limit, I doubt the hornet is pushing the same energy as the 223 at that range, but it kills and very well, you have to look further than the bench rest guys who are looking for one hole groups, if the gun is unpractical as mine was, then why not, my gun is far better to use from the
  10. I took a good amount off my Remington 700 1:12 twist 223, and I can tell you it has dramatically changed the gun for the better in my view, before it was unwieldy and badly balanced , now I have it as a dedicated night rifle and love it, I was going to get rid, it was that bad to handle, well worth the cost, I load my own rounds and found the lighter faster rounds suited it better so left it at that, I shoot most of my foxes out to 200 not many beyond that, and the guns been spot on, it’s now at 19 inch if I remember right it was around 25 inch, and when the silencer was on it it was like ho
  11. If you look at them all, they look like something out of a toy story movie I agree, I got the same impression with quads first time I bought one, but underneath all the plastic is a solid chassis, I suppose it’s a leap of faith pick one and try it.
  12. They are mate but very similar in a lot of ways, only do one lesson a time, she is very young at 10 wk, too young, she will show you when she’s ready ie she will start carrying things around, as her confidence grows you consider her next lesson, it’s important not to discourage her ie, don’t chase her, or grab things off her, if she brings you something take it off her and give her it back, don’t let people have conversations with her, keep everything simple, remember raise them quiet they will be quiet, but let her have her puppyhood,
  13. Do you think one would fit inside a container, just to secure it mind, somebody would nick it knowing my luck
  14. Hi trigger, how old is it, dog or bitch, labs are great dogs I prefer to keep them picking up/ retrieving, and for beating a spaniel, however they will beat really well, take your time get the dog steady do plenty of sit training, don’t start it too early, there’s a load of information out there, it’s sorting the crap out, as you will get a lot of that, good luck with it,
  15. It’s making me feel old mate, I am only 55 I feel sorry for my dad I must have drove him bloody mad,
  16. There’s a guy on there done a review, he sold his Polaris I think, as he had loads of issues, and bought a Honda pioneer, he does a second review a year later, and to be fair it’s not a bad review, if you listen to him, basically the Honda hasn’t missed a beat, no surprises there, he does say his other Polaris, had issues that may have been associated with his local retailer, things like it hasn’t had its coolant system bled properly, however that’s only one of the issues, for me the Honda seems to be streets ahead of the others,
  17. Looking at the Honda pioneer on utube and they look very good reliability and such, I tried to lift it and post it here, ie post a link but I am thick when it comes to technology,
  18. Same for us but times are changing, every lad in our village had at some point fallen out of a chestnut tree, part of growing up ,
  19. Thing with them are they weatherproof, or do they need storing inside, as I would have to get some garage space, my quad is inside at the minute, so I suppose anything without a cab would be knackered in no time ,
  20. Well I spoke to an old farmer in the lakes about them, he has both, he runs Yamaha grizzly’s and a John Deer utv, he said without the utv he would not be farming he’s too old and the weather is too much for him now, which backs up what you are saying, he has fell sheep and a lot of them, I spoke to a farmer around the corner from me who also has a older John Deer utv who I catch moles for, and he said they are great things but his takes a bit of keeping on the road, ie maintenance, from what I can find online they seem to think the Kawasaki mule it the most reliable, but it’s still early
  21. Be good to see how they do, I have always been interested in casting bullets but never done it.
