  1. As above I have the moss berg 20 pump, hush power cracking gun, I will get the 410 though, to use in close proximity to the buildings/ cow sheds, over the winter when they are occupied, I don’t think you can beat 410 up close, with the 2 inch cartridge, which are in my opinion better than the 9mm garden gun, and through a moderated gun, are as quiet as you will ever get, I will be trading my side by side 410 this yr for a modified one,I suppose it all depends, on what you are wanting to shoot,
  2. I agree with underdog, they will take anything in this country, I have used one twenty yr, and love the round, it’s not the only caliber I have tried but one I have stuck with,
  3. Sounds good, we have been limited, as most of the ponds around us are dry at the moment, that’s the only pond I have with water at present, I am uasually feeding 3 this time of yr,
  4. I know mate, I have done it for yrs, but never have hit them too hard at the start, just My way
  5. First morning, cracking start, 11 mallard 1 goose, on new ground a flight pond, I got end of last yr, my others are dry at the moment, I don’t normally shoot morning flights, but had friends here, for the opening day, one a novice, plenty of duck, so I called time at 11, they were still coming in when we went, and didn’t want to hit it too hard, dog did really well, doing some really good retrieves,
  6. Me too there’s plenty around, resident greys that is, been a good yr for mallard it seems too,
  7. Yes I agree, very productive when done right
  8. I gut all mine in the field, only takes a few seconds, go back next night or so, and wait for the fox,
  9. Cheers that’s the same model as well, just need to get some resin glue tomorrow, and I can sort it thanks,
  10. Just checked it Deker, and even right back in the top picture, it easily clears the stock ,and to look at the old, glue/ adeasive on the barrel, that’s where it was, trouble is I don’t know if the previous owner has messed with it,
  11. One question I never thought of ?? Should the barrel shroud go right down the barrel, as in this picture or should it be set higher up the barrel as in this pic i suppose what I am saying what is the correct position, how far down the barrel should the shroud go,
  12. Cheers fella, never tried gorilla resin mind, I have some jb weld somewhere, never find anything when you want it, usual case
  13. Absolutely, they are the future, hope the lad does well,
  14. I will have a good look, but these are the obvious things I have found, it’s like anything you have to start and work through them,
  15. Well a couple of month ago I picked up a BSA lightning, synthetic stock in reasonable condition, lad said his son couldn’t hit anything with it, having used one when they first came out, I knew it must be young kid syndrome, as in tampering, first thing I noticed the mounts were crap not, not fitting properly at all, and Simone had messed with the barrel shroud, anyway I left it till I had time, anyway I fitted new mounts, correct for the maxi grip rail, and the groups came in dramatically, but still kept slipping off, so checked the shroud and found it loose, so I want to re stick it, I could
  16. Get geese and never get a nights sleep ??
  17. I tried HV many years ago and liked them, the draw back was I had no consistent supply, each place I went to seemed to have limited stock, but everybody had sub’s, I found the normal HV very good, in most brands, however some of the really HV, as in stingers and such, inconsistent at best,
  18. Good dogs, but get something from stock you know is working, German import, or close, if you can, but the working bit is the most important, I used mine for stalking and she could be controlled, until you set her off, then she came into her own, fearless little dogs with bit hearts, don’t let the looks deceive you,
  19. Never seen that last one before, interesting indeed
  20. My new lab he’s settleing in nice, getting in well with the others
  21. Well I have gone and sourced myself a new lab, been a while since I bought one for myself, a good big dog, one I will put ont blood scenting as a stalking companion, and general retrieving, hes settlng well 15 month old, the mrs asked today am I going to have him hip scored, something I hadn’t thought about, his parents have good hip scores, so thought, go on I will price it jeesus first price £300 second £270, what kind of money does everyone else pay, or is that the going rate does anyone know,
  22. Take them back mate that shouldn’t be happening, any loss of accuracy ???
