  1. All dogs vary, but even if i had a dog that was coming on very well with its training. i wouldnt consider taking it on a full shoot day until it was a year.
  2. Not sure if this has already been posted but i stole it off another forum... Teaching Maths In 1970 A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit? 2. Teaching Maths In 1980 A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is % of the price. What is his profit? 3. Teaching Maths In 1990 A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. His cost of production is £. How much was his profit? 4. Teaching Maths In 2000 A logger sells a truckload of timber for £100. Hi
  3. If you can call it away from a scent or if it has seen birds to flush then i would let him see a bit of each drive to start with. Alot of shoots push all the birds into flushing points so i would advise keeping it on a lead if you think she might be tempted to run in at the sight of alot of pheasants in a small area. When i was younger and had first got a dog i used to be very wary of letting him off during a drive. But in reality thats the only way they get experience. Let your dog off when its not going to mess a drive up and see how it goes.
  4. Couple of good moors up glen esk. both have pheasant shoots too. so if its one of the two big estates then you will hopefully get to see a bit of everything.
  5. As others have said, Its a way of life. Alot of young lads get into keepering expecting to drive around in a landrover all day doing the odd trap here and there. I've seen more lads jack in after a year or two than i have stick at it. If your willing to put the effort in and stick at it then u will reap the benefits. I would advise you to try and get a few weeks or a summer work experience rather than just a week so you get a good look at it rather than a taste.
  6. Toyota Hilux or Mitsubishi L200 imo
  7. "The French Government announced yesterday that it has raised it's terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and then "Collaborate". The rise was precipitated by a recent fire which destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralysing the country's military capability." PMSL! excellent!!
  8. Never a truer word spoken... Nice write up and picutres pal, shame theres always a hero or 2 trying to put a downer on good threads. Maybe its jelousy.
  9. As MAIN MAN has said, although i use tinned sardines as theyre easy to carry alot of and clean. Just pierce the lid a few times to let the smell out. Ive also has success with mink rafts... basically a cage trap on a floating raft. I've only used these in still water (ponds and ditches)
