    I’m no hound man to be honest. the little hounds I know hunt anything . they will hunt fox , but will hunt Roe. nice little things if you can keep them on your chosen quarry. Can’t answer the question regarding any added hunting quality . ATB Tony

    I did presume the reply would be defending Russell’s ? your probably right DC , but also working style. everyone seems to prefer harder dogs , where as older terrier men maybe preferred a steadier dog with a bit more self preservation. NA at the Pembroke had 10 inch Russell’s and they were fine on hunt days when I was visiting ATB T

    Tried to get one myself to be honest they don’t look as obvious as the blacks Couldnt afford one in the end… or at least justify the price tag Still like a bit of border in my cross breds

    If it’s the same Tyson…. I saw it once had a bad day this particular time and we got it with a small Russell no doubt it did work but tight earth called for a pipe cleaner dog. We were following DB’s Waen if I remember right be 12 yr ago ? ATB Tony

    You will need a kennel full if you’re out every week ? only seen a couple that actually were worth feeding but they were a bit on the hard side goof terriers mind ATB T

    He’ll make a nice dog for someone my first dog was a bull terrier and I kept Stafford’s for quite a few years. I’ve a soft spot for them both. you need to know what you’ve got and adapt. mine never got me into too much bother bar they odd scrap not bred for brains the EBT, not in my experience anyway. ATB …T

    I think what DC is saying may have been taken the wrong way. going to a VET is the same as going to a shop . if you aren’t happy go to the shop down the road. they have zero authority on anything and it’s the welfare of the dog they are, or should be concerned with but ultimately it’s your business not theirs .     I’ve never been asked for certs off the vet for my terriers or spaniels. I’ve also never heard of anyone who has. I took a litter for chipping at 8 week old last year. All docked and vet said nothing ATB Tony
