yes i've seen several other Japanese or (whatever country they are manufactured in) models in use, clients have come with all sorts of gear over the years and its nice to have a look, not too good on model numbers blah blah but some findings below specifically remember a Bushnell model was ok but any light drizzle caused ranging problems, under the lamp it was useless (when foxing/rabbiting) even at closer ranges Nikon one seemed a good compromise until is steamed up due to water ingress after about a week of not so hard use, durability issues i suspect Leupolds offerings ok i

Save your dough and buy the Leica CRF 1200 £400 from Swillingdon Shooting at the moment Well worth it in the long run, better size than the LRF models, slips in and out a pocket with ease, good for nighttime lamping, LED display and sharp returns in shitey weather you'll sell a leica no probs if you ever want to upgrade/give up/give out it's waterproof too, very waterproof actually, lay in a burn running into my pocket for 40 mins waiting on a stag and it didn't let in, continual rain for weeks on the stags and never missed a beat great warranty, great clarity bet

Cheers for the replies, It's more to have a replacement reference copy rather than needing it for study It was a decent reference when I did L1 & L 2 and good for L1 candidates. Will try the above contacts Cheers -

minimum land for 22. LR Riffle
SikaTears replied to james.5385's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
good attitude james yes, runing before walking but we're all guilty of that... as an aside, do you have any shoots locally where you could possibly do some beating and get your face known? through networking like that and showing keen there is every possibility of opening up more land, more oportunities , even if it means filling hoppers, doin in the squizzers for the keeper etc etc it all adds up and builds peoples confidence slowly slowly catch e monkey mate read basc website for further FAC info, best of luck -
minimum land for 22. LR Riffle
SikaTears replied to james.5385's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
to be fair james, i dont think you are ready for an FAC yet- this is meant in the best possible way and not a slight on your shooting capabilities with a shotgun but try to get out with someone who owns a rifle and find out about judging backstops, ranges and most importantly - safety with using a rifle, shooting up in trees with any firearm is ill advised and should you mention this to an FEO you'd be exposing your ignorane of firearm handling & in all honesty could jeapordise your SGC depending on their attitude stick with the shottie's for now and find someone wh can mentor you fo -
get yourself individual items bud the kits are usually filled with throw away items and you will soon be upgrading having said that, sportfish do a good general tying tool kit and dr. slick also do good kits, stay clear of stone fly, they are not very long lasting depends on what you intend tying - salmon or trout - lake river etc then chose material to suit some of the kits i've seen really are a waste of time ask at you local shop and if they are worth their salt they'd be able to get the basic,s for you to build on

What rifle and calibre do you use ?
SikaTears replied to Lloyd90's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Agree'd with above I am a .270 man myself and whilst it seems to be falling foul of the Metrics and becoming "out of fashion" these days compared to other cal's, for me it's my favourite calibre for all UK deer species be it hill or woodland or whatever. my 243 is for foxes and smaller deer and my age old 22lr for the small game -
Have to agree the Cowdell v Nelson KO sticks out among the greats. Some of the earlier KO's in the great Zale v Graziano battles and the very talented Carlos Monzon also send shivers thinking about them. One of my favourite technical boxers was a frenchman names Marcel Cerdan, for a small man he could bang. Love also Marciano, devastating hands as did the young RJ Junior Need to look out some DVD's, you've got me in the mood
