    I read somewhere that grey to red viral takeover was more likely than red to red. Which means if you can annihilate the greys you have seen, the reds have a chance. Also, if the current ones do die out in your area, if the territory is free, more will appear in time. Just get rid of those greys! If you have a gun (and time) use it, if not...live traps. Best of luck!

    Very interesting! I made a tunnel for the 116 not so long ago, made for resting horizontally on a tree or fence. But haven't had any luck so far... And the peanut holder - genius! I must try that one myself. Top job! Don't forget to keep us informed how it goes.

    Was that a genuine 'good luck', or are you insinuating that my chances are minimal? definately that your chances are minimal... when I started out, I thought it would be easy. But trust me, it's not... I've sent out over 100 letters in the last 3 years, with two replies. One said yes, the other said . So in fact, you do need some good luck! Good luck

    Firstly, to look 'professional' as you say, get one of these: clicky And rimfire is the definition of overkill in this situation. An air rifle will be more than enough to kill pigeons.

    Why spend all that extra cash on a specific gun lamp? I use an LED Lenser 'Police Tech Focus' torch. Honestly the best torch I have ever come across. You can get a mount on ebay for a fiver! Fantastic gun lamp for under £30, result. Get it from Amazon too, they have some pretty good deals at the moment.

    I would suggest heading over to www.bsaog.co.uk. That's the BSA owners forum, very good website if you're considering taking your gun apart. And as for scopes...it's budget dependent. I use Hawke Sport HD scopes, and I'm very happy with them. The 3-9x40 mil dot should be around £35.99.

    Thanks for the help. Just one other question then...does the spring have to be situated at 90° to the trap? Or can it be facing straight up/down as well? Presumably this wouldn't affect it's effectiveness...

    Just got the 116, nice bit of kit. Just a few questions about it.... 1. Can you use it horizontally (with a trap pan for example)? 2. Any good designs for tunnels? The second question is particularly annoying me as it has a huge spring sticking out of one side! Any suggestions?
