  2. Well lads i,m collecting my new rifle in the next week or so its a tikka y3 varmint it,ll be used for foxing its the .223 the thing is i never specified which barrel twist i wanted one eight or one in twelve i know that the 1 in 12 would be suited to lighter rounds. Just wondering could someone put up the different weights suited to the different twist rates please and thanks in advance
  3. Have a cz varmint .17hmr in my opinion its great value for money the trigger isn,t great but you can get a kit for it of rimfire magic there very cheap and make a great difference. I find it very accurate and have had no problems with it at all apart from the trigger just my 2p worth
  4. I have a cz 452 in varmint and can,t fault it excellent little gun
  5. I hace a cz varmint 452 and i use federal and find them very good group under an inch at 100m and i find them easy to find in any of my local gun shops and even with different batchs the point of impact never changes much at all
  6. I,ve a cz varmint in hmr the ammo that suits it best is federal or hornady i,ve heard good things about the browning but i,d try as many different types of ammo as you can and see what suits it
  7. Great shooting and those foxes look in good condition well at least they where before you shot them
  8. My mate had one on his 223 for foxes and has got rid off it and gone back to tke lamp the nd3 only gives you a small area of visibility and you,d have to be lucky to see one using just the laser not worth the money just my 2p worth
  9. Well john dont know why you,d want to change the sako but i,ve a cz 452 varmint cant fault it very good gun apart from the trigger it has a bit of creep but you can get a kit from rimfire magic supposed to be the business. Best of luck with whatever you do john i,d probably keep the quad if i was you
  10. Have to agree the typical fox they pulled out was tiny and i,m sure there are bigger ones knocking about aswell
  11. Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these scopes? I,ve just put in for my .223 license and i put a deposit on a tikka t3 varnint and was going to get one of these to go on top of it the 3-12x50 it would be used for foxes almost exclusively any advice welcome and thanks in advance

  13. I,ll second that john been out 3 nights since saturday for an average 5 hours a night with a couple of mates we only saw three foxes in that 15 hours, but the week before that my mate shot 9 in one night!!!!!

  15. I had a cz452 in .22 was very accurate rifle as long as i did my part i,ve changed to a cz 17hmr varmint and once again an excellent rifle i an get an inch group at 100m,s i couldn,t do that with my .22 but if all your shooting will be under 100 i,d say stay with the .22 because of noise levels and price of rounds just my honest opinion hope it helps
