Really slow start, only done 5 wasp nests so far. Until the nice weather arrives (hopefully) and folk are out in their gardens, then it will be slow. No ants at all so far this year, whats going on?

Squirrels Above Suspended Ceiling
shropshire mole replied to jackg's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I would use a mix of live catch traps/body grips/kanias above the ceiling (covered to make an irresistible tunnel), could always put on a board that covers 2 or 3 tiles for added strength. Generally find that suspended ceilings are quite strong. Or if they do not mind the risk of smells, could bait with squirrel bait?? most economical solution atb -
Every thing works to a certain degree, but you must treat where the dogs live. If the dog lives with you in the house then would recommend that all carpets are treated to kill the fleas, otherwise they will simply reinfest the dog. Treat your van/car as well Wash the dog bed in a hot wash as well

Would guess they were just the pups in the shed, fox cubs given to "play with"

Had a call for wasps, not a surprise, but found that bumble bees and wasps were sharing the same entrance in the bungalow soffet board. Was very surprised, never seen before.

Did see it, it was the south Herefordshire Hunt, I think. Awful behaviour, those involved deserve what they get. its one thing a lurcher coming across a fox cub and chasing it, its quite another to put the cub deliberately in with the hounds.

Another question? Also give pup beef rib bones to chew/exercise, been told raw lamb bones are better, any thoughts? atb

Do you feed raw chicken wings as a treat Socks? Our pup was being feed 1 a day before we purchased, so have simply continued. All the pups were fed a raw BARF diet, but our pup was not fond of it when we got her home on her own, so is having some raw and a little dried Does any one else feed raw chicken wings?

I never gave it any thought that I could have simply changed the veil, doh

I have a DR5 which I purchased this year for the wasps along with the xl8 lance, have not used both together yet, but the DR5 seems quite good. Also purchased a new bee jacket from www.buzzbeekeepingsupplies.co.uk, as my old Sheriff full suit had started to part around the veil. Used the new jacket a few times so far and is really comfortable and does the job The dust stick is now in reserve, just in case

How much do you want for each visit? if your happy with a tenner to check snares and reset, then charge £10 per visit. If you want more then charge what you would be happy with. Would you be happy with £50, for the complete job, then charge £50 Will you have to pay tax? if so charge to cover this. Unless you are doing this job for fun/experience, you need to be making some profit, to help with living Charging per rabbit is ok, as long as you are good at what you do and are plenty of rabbits.. Could always email/phone others locally and ask what they would charge for suc

We have just purchased an 8 week old beddy/whippet last Friday for £250. think that is a fair price and years of fun From a lovely home, well cared for, happy and healthy

Maybe I can pass some work on. As we know its all been said before and stuff like this can be found anywhere, its just there to put in some extra content. We know the webpage has some adjustments to be made we haven't gone out and spent 5k and said its perfect I am not being critical, you did ask for feed back on your site. And that is what I am giving. Sure there would be things to find wrong on any site, and true need to start somewhere and have some web presence, and that is what you have got.

You have quite a bit of text to read - maybe have less! Folk want pest control, not to read all about it. only my opinion Certainly would remove the bit about a wasp nest taking 2-24 hours to die off, may have a negative impact. just tell folk you do them, do them well and guarantee results. Also if your going to quote statistics "Wasp stings in the throat account for 50% of all fatalities caused by venomous animals" should say where the information came from, but don`t simply copy from other pest control websites atb

You do not have a home phone number or address anywhere on the website. I think these are important features - proves who you are. Are you insured? if yes then tell us ATB

We are going to collect our beddy/whippet puppy end of May. Currently it is on a raw meat diet. Do you feed a raw meat diet? Wondering what the benefits are?

Is anyone using WaspBane Traps? http://www.waspbane.com/ Purchased 6 last season to try out in my garden, do think they helped reduce numbers, but then wasp numbers were not bad last August/September. How do you rate them? Have you been on the 1 day course (free) how to use/position them?
-
Had my first call at the weekend for a wasp nest. Lady phoned in a panic, but due to my other work commitments was unable to help. Also saw my first wasp of the season on Monday. Any one else having the odd call or seeing wasps about??

Is it possible to renew the trigger/ trigger wires on body grips? Have 2 traps which are ok except where one of the trigger wires has rusted and broken. Rather than bin and buy again would like to replace the trigger. Looks like I can drill out the old rivets, replace the trigger wires and bolt together. Any one tried this? Does it work?

I have an old but still useable gloria stainless steel 5 litre compression spayer. Has always worked well, last year changed the hose due to a leak. BUT, they are very expensive and unless you are spaying alot and regulary, would look at the lower budget garden sprayers for £20-£30 which are designed for insecticide use, but will not be so robust, so careful transport and storage will be required Atb

if all else fails and you have a dog! Then could use rabbit long net to divide garden out and flush the rabbits with the dog & catch that way. or if you know where they are getting in, use a drop box
-
I have tried and failed to catch with traps in a domestic garden. I was using carrot, most in the cage with just a little outside. Wildlife camera revealed that mice were taking the carrot. There is a lot of info on this site already discussed last year, search rabbit trapping on front page I wish you well
