  1. In your opinion which bear works best? Polar, grizzly, brown or teddy bear
  2. Just put a couple of bears in there. Just put a couple of bears in there. WHICH ONE WORKS BEST??
  3. I have just renewed my public liability insurance and saved over £200 . The company I have moved to are giving me a like for like insurance to the last one I had . The cover includes use of firearms as well and accident cover . They where very helpful and talked me through the form filling, something we all hate !! A decent saving for any company in pest control and even more so for a soletrader, every penny counts.. How much is your excess??
  4. Loads of companies offer public liability for every job under the sun, BUT do they really know what is involved and perhaps more importantly pay out quickly if a claim is made? Have renewed again with the BPCA approved insurers, I can sleep easy at night.
  5. Each to their own. I do not take any payment until job completed. Personally I feel this gives the customer confidence. To date, other than a couple of late payers, all have paid, often they become return customers. I guess for me as a part time business, its not so critical to get the money in to pay those bills, and can wait a couple of weeks
  6. Its 2 jobs IMO or at very least extra paid visits for the 2 job, since they were started at different times. The mole that popped up after the initial job completed, I would catch for free as I do give 7 days "no more mole hills" this I find gives the customer confidence in choosing you over someone who does not offer this. But, you have to ask yourself: Is this a good customer Do I make a good profit from this customer Would it be a shame to lose them Only you can answer
  7. I do not pre bait!! if the squirrel goes in the trap then you have got it, no point letting it feed and then leave, IMO.Cover the traps with natural foliage/sticks/twigs, probably do not need the bin liner Have you thought about kill traps? I use tunnel traps with either fenns or body grips inside - you then have an irresistible dark hole for the squirrel to investigate, the rest is history. Check out http://www.jcwildlife.co.uk/ he has some great traps and really keen prices, but could make your own I didn't when I first started it but thought I'd give it a go this time a

  9. But, bet you feel nice inside knowing that you have helped someone who is in need
  10. If the queen for some reason has died in the nest prematurely. That could possibly account for sweet feeding annoying wasps so early in the season!!
  11. Waspbane is a company down south who invented/sell their own wasp traps. The idea is the traps attract the scout wasps who are looking for a food source for the colony. If these forager scouts are trapped, then no message gets back to the nest. and the area being kept clear of wasps, ie amusement park, ice cream kiosk, pub garden etc is protected from majority of wasps.= less stings
  12. I take it you are a waspbane recruit? I did read it on their website, no real way of telling if it is true or not. Unless, of course you know differently
  13. Wonder if the wasps were left over from all the nests done by the warden. They have not entered the nest so survived. now sweet feeding as no work to do?
  14. It takes longer to put overalls and bee suit jacket on,but defo better than even 1 sting
  15. At one point I had traps out in five departments! Are you referring to counties?
  16. You certainly can poison within buildings, but only warfarin is licensed for squirrel control. you can not use rat/mouse rodenticide for squirrels
  17. Check out websites for BPCA and NPTA (google them) Also training courses run by Killgerm, Barrattine and 1env- pest control supply companies. Should find all the info you need. atb
  18. Warfarin poison may only be deployed out of doors against grey squirrels for tree protection. If you don't know what you are talking about, its best to say nothing. http://www.killgerm.com/onlinecatalogue/grey-squirrel-bait-for-indoor-use-1-x-10kg Think you will find that you are the complete DICK http://www.1env.co.uk/grey-squirrel-bait.html Another one for the "so called" professional If you don't know what you are talking about, its best to say nothing

  20. This is a much hyped but seldom realised situation. Yes it happens, but I have dealt with thousands of rats over the years and only ever had a handful cause odour issues. VERY EFFECTIVE deodorising gels etc are available to mask the smell should it happen. If you tinker about you will never solve the problem, you need to hit them hard and fast! I agree, hit them hard now, if you do not want the poison route, then get the boss to buy 20 more traps, so more of the vast roof area is covered. Adult rats are canny, they have learned how to survive better than young ones, trap placemen
