Took my Dad to watch the Furys last year, after many years of not really listening to them me and my brother sang along to most of the songs, remembering words youd have thought lost in over 35 years of time! as a family of Irish descent Irish songs were a big lump of childhood..

Had a real "moment" when me and the wife visited the Sacre Couer in Paris, many years ago. It's a stunning place anyway, but when we walked in the nuns were singing, it was very moving, my wife cried and every hair on my body stood on end...chilling to be honest... I'm not a religious man, but I seek.out places of worship wherever we go, we do a lot of city breaks and spend a good chunk of time walking around old churches, cathedrals etc... I guess we are all drawn to something, maybe Wilfs got it, in that it's embedded in our past and music brings it to our present...who knows...

Lads doing great Sean, that's him hooked for life now!!

used to catch eels a lot as a youngster out of the Exe, we lived right behind the lower reaches of the river so spent loads of time down there catching eels and schoolie bass.. one of the best baits we found was liver, an old boy told us to try it and we caught some half decent fish on it, the river was full of eels back then..we also used to "fish" the small streams in the reed beds further down river when the tide was out, you'd walk up the stream and turn the rocks, old tyres etc the eels would lie underneath these and we'd grab them and flick them up the bank then put them in a big bucket,

Yeah I remember seeing the dog on here abd you pointing me over to him when I was up there picking my bitch up off Haymin, I think Mik wad away at the time. The dog I'm on about was a big bull x, my eyes were opened to what a "proper" bull x would do, but this lad done everything (accept hares), I've mentioned him a few times as he could turn his hand to most things, all the stuff you'd expect and then would work with ferrets... but was probably plus 90lb, it could run though, but it got worked all the time in whatever was there to run

Mates big bull x was a lump of a thing, no idea on weight but my bitch is around 75lb and he was certainly a lot heavier than her...an awesome animal on anything you put him on, serious dog and owned by a very serious dog man, I think he's on his 3rd generation off him now, not seen him in a while but still going strong and all from a very big powerful bull lurcher, changed my opinion in them pretty quick that's foe sure

Used to love the criss country mate, used to run along the river exe flood relief, all streams and bogs... get back to school covered in mud and f***ing freezing! Lol
-
Could hold my own as a youngster at longer distance and cross country, was shite at sprinting, 400m.was a killer...my mate was a good sprinter, ran national level, was a great footballer as a kid when his speed was too much for anyone, once ge got into the adult game and half decent standard the fact he couldn't control.a ball or even kick it properly caught up with him..lol

Sad that mate, sometimes its someone other than your parents who take that role and it's unconditional love/respect... had the same over 5 years ago now, still miss and think about him a lot.. Sorry for your loss mate and hope the Hammers put on a special season for them..

Must be the only one enjoying it then, lo9k forward to getting in and catching up on the days events then watching the athletics later...only time I take any interest in athletics, or skateboarding, kite surfing, gymnastics...lol

I think the young lads got injured in pre season and looks a lengthy one, our curse with defenders continues.. he does look a very good player though..

Intelligent, thought provoking and brilliantly worded posts lads... For years the whole country has been talking about the extent of immigration and the problems that will eventually come from it, I've lost count of the amount of conversations I've had that always start.."I'm not racist but..." It's become a pressure cooker and Jukels observation of the poorer working class white are now disadvantaged is without doubt a huge part of the unrest we are seeing, people have had enough of the lot of it, full stop... The terrible act of murdering innocent children is the straw that h

Thats it mate...buy the tool that works...these muppets who have a big 4x4 to only take the kids to school, never pulled a trailer or been on a country road, let alone off road in there life... where I live an electric car wouldn't get up the hill to here in a bit of sleet let aline snow!!

I don't know of you saw it but I read something the other day about a bloke who had planned to rape, kidnap Nd murder Holly Willoughby, he got sentenced to life... He is obviously one very sick and f****d up man, but I found it strange he was sentenced in line with the act itself when he hadn't carried it out only planned it... no sympathy here by the way, just rang a bit with this case.

I wouldn't make the switch, one I don't believe electric cars are any better for the planet, production of lithium batteries abd disposing of them plus the methods of producing enough electricity means they are possibly more impactful. 2 they are impractical for my day to day life, and business activities...
-
Is it about having sympathy for them? I couldn't give a f**k about the individuals personally, don't know them or care for them....but...it don't mean a 5 year sentence for the "crime" is right, this is more about the people don't fit "our kind of blokes" than the crime committed imo
-
I've not read any of the sentencing reports etc mate, if it is purely for demonstrating it seems ridiculously harsh, but as you say if the "powers that be" have uncovered a more sinister plan then that might explain it... It does seem odd that this particular subject had been dealt with so hard, it is in line with pretty much all of the main parties views and championing their cause, so to come down so hard is strange..if it was a campaign against immigration or pro hunting you'd almost expect it

All threads twist and turn mate...it'll be about baking cakes and smoking blow by the time its finished! Lol

Personally I think the health issues, particularly in built up areas are the first thing to be sorted, we were privy to a monitor being set up in an inner city nursery in London and the carbon levels were higher than found in most garages, the kids are breathing in exhaust fumes/particulates daily... I don't completely buy into the carbon issues on the environment as i think if we didn't destroy forestry and natural lands so quickly this would help naturally to combat the co levels...but that is my view...I do however completely believe we should make cleaner air zones, practically and efficie
