    Similar to my efforts on saturday mate. just me the dogs and a couple of ferrets we only had 1 but had a few good runs, It was never gonna be a big bag as most of this land is big hedges so they're impossable to do on your own, this was purely for fun and being out with the dogs/ferrets and not sat on my ass doing nothing.

    Nice one getting the kids involved she'll be your ferreting partner soon enough, mine are the same I think my little girl likes the ferrets more than the dogs, she helps me clean them out and is good at handling them ( under a watchful eye) at only 3. She had a little trip with me last week only an hour or so, we had 3 rabbits and she insisted on carrying one back to the car her brother whos 6 can set purse nets now and gets involved once he learns to shut up for 5 mins I'll take him more lol.

    The old boy has helped me out over the last 20 years with the odd ferret or two so its only fair that I should sort help him out with his back breakers now he's getting on a bit, even if he did stand laughing when I caught a second bolter under my arm while unnetting the first, he said it looked like I was trying to play bagpipes LOL nice one mate, make the most of your times with him you don't half miss em when they've gone.     Cheers Maxabell and the ferreter We've just been given permission on the next 2 farms here, had a little walk with the lamp last night and had 11 in a couple of hours, should be a good bit for this year.

    Cheers for the replies lads They're both around 19-20" tts, mines around 17 mnths and the pup is 12mnths it was her first proper run last night ( she's had a few runs but nothing much). I was really impressed with her, she settled really well after the first couple of runs and retrived her last 2 live to hand, we'll keep them going now there's a lot of land we can go on around the bit we ran last night we only done 1 farm, should have a few this season.

    Had a walk out last night with my young bitch and my brothers 12 month old pup, we walked the same bit of permission we had ferreted sunday and managed 11 altogether 7 to my bitch and 4 to the pup, the dogs ran well and didn't miss many, we only walked 1 out of the 3 farms we have now got permission on around here. Big thanks to Richie1, who's just joined THL, for getting us on the land he's now came ferreting and last night watched the dogs I've got a feeling his guns may stay in the cupboard for a while now. lol.     Hi,unfortunately Blade had a fatal accident when out lamping (not sure of the details), i did mention this in an earlier post. Thats why I'm on the lookout for another stud dog Sorry mate I didn't see the post, sorry to the dogs owner as well. As you know I've been interested in this for a while, good luck in finding your stud dog mate.
