  1. Sounds like a good night lads, well done.
  2. Thanks for the reply, like you say time will tell but they sound like they're heading in the right direction for sure. It's definately an interesting mix and I hope they continue doing what you want from them To the post starter sorry to hijack the post for a minute, I hope you can find out whats in your dog, but if not, as long as it works for you and does what you want, it doesn't really matter ATB Kev
  3. That's interesting to read sky cat, as you've had a paticular strain of lurcher for a long time that I guess has done all you've asked of them, what is it that the Airedale brings to the mix, that was missing before. Cheers
  4. Pleased with mines progress, always puts a few in the bag, learning each time out and improving. Her re-calls good but her retreive is hit and miss, she's going straight down the beam now and realising she can pick them up when they're squatting not just when they're running.
  5. yes Kev, with the bring on pups, it really as made think more about it, to what i do. jon pup is really spot on for such a young age. I suppose it comes down to the temp of the pup as well, you could have started Bryn very young, as by time he was 15 months old he had got 100 rabbits, so he would have done well if i had started younger. But i always started my pups about 11 month old, maybe i was wrong .? Just think everyones got there way of doing things mate, whats right for one may not be right for another. Plus as you say every dogs different don't think mine would have responded well
  6. Nice one Ray and dogs, Interesting point on how to bring the dogs on, I suppose a little at a young age could be good, my pup was ferreting first from around 4-5 mnth just having a look, and I gave her runs over the summer on the lamp from around 8 mnths, nice easy rabbits. She's come on well this way. for me anyway, there's improvement every trip out. I work her off the slip for the first couple of runs then she calms right down and walks off the slip nicely. Glad it was a good night mate Kev
  7. Well done lads, 8 out of 10 is good on any terrain so you must be pleased with the pups.
  8. Aother great bag there mate, Feel sorry for your mate though he must be hanging today.......
  9. That took some reading, my brain hurts now. I remember her posting as crobin and was an obvious nut job, shows how easy you can be sucked in by some one though, she definately came back on a crusade. The THL clean up operation has begun.
  10. Got good nightvision I would say, was close to an accident last week when she was walking to heel, about to leave a field we had just been in, she set off flat out in the dark, when I flicked the lamp on it was something I didn't want her to run give her a good yell, and it was away through the hedge luckily. She's had a few rabs out of the beam and seen other dogs do the same.
  11. Ginger and black....... like a duracell battery
  12. Think your right there mate, I'm not on facebook, twitter or anything like it. I'm on The Hunting Life and The World Sea Fishing Forum, because I enjoy hunting and fishing, so like to read, learn and sometimes get involved in discussions about them. I don't give a shit what some bloke from school had for his dinner so don't do facebook, I don't understand why it's linked.
  13. Good luck with the dog mate, hope he's back at it soon
  14. I would say even outsiders looking in could see some of the posters at the minute aren't right in the head, and not a true reflection of of normal humans, besides hunters. At first glance anybody reading would think most posters have a missing chromosone, and anyone wanting to use quotes from the site could fill their boots in 2 minutes flat............ Your right there mate, I don't think people realise how much amunition these forums can give...... I'm sure a lot of posts at the minute are a big wind up, maybe to get people to bite for the wrong reasons...

  16. If thats aimed at me....I wouldn't condemn anyone who's life was under threat and needed a safe haven I'm a parent and I would not wnt my children to suffer in anyway.. but I do condemn a goverment who allows an almost free unchecked passage into our country , I also condemn the conduct of some of the people in our country who obviously hate it so much that they burn our flags, scream abuse at our war deads families and preach hate on our streets, whilst taking our handouts. I don't blame people for trying to make there life better and if they contribute to our country then fine, but it wou
  17. It's funny though how threads like " does 2 leverets = 1 hare" get twice as many replies as more geninuine hunting posts about days or nights out etc......... although they make me laugh out loud sometimes. Also if all the top thl boys and girls are smuggled into the vip area, wheres theres free booze and talk of the god old days....... who can we all turn to for advice and guidance we may all start believing that 2 leverets equal 1 hare without you here................
  18. I've never put it on a wound before like a mug I went and brought germoline............. But I do like it on roasted carrots
  19. nice one pal ill have to try that one  They're simple things woman really, if you play the game a bit your lifes so much easier............... I really hope she doesn't see this post
  20. Mine is similar to yours, except doesn't come out, does want to learn to shoot though. Two things, she won't have anything feathery or furry in the house, and thinks I spend too much time at it, other than that everything is rosy in the garden. If people let themselves be dictated to by their partner, they'll end up unhappy. Your right there mate, seen it with mates before, 1 lad I was real good friends with is afraid to shit unless he's got permission from his missus.
  21. You would think at some point one of the major parties will listen to the overwhelming majority of british people and try to get this country back into shape. I know they all feed us with the same lies and half truths to get in but if it goes on much longer I truly believe there will be worse than rioting on our streets. I am honestly not a racist at all and I would like to think that if my family were so unsafe in this country that the only option was to leave for there safety there would be somewhere for them to go....... but there's got to be a limit ffs. I have worked on buildi
  22. Mines not too bad really, She has the odd moan, the classic why do want to go out again tonight when you were out last night, I've tried to explain that if the winds up and the moons down you got to make the most of it. Been going on about the house recently so it's stripping out carpets today ready for a decorator next week, I'll lay a new floor next saturday and that should set me up nicely for a whinge free season. The classic trade off.
  23. I agree that a 3/4 grown rabbit ( we call em a fryer) is a lot better eating than a tough old buck rabbit, but I don't think thats what this wind up is all about.
  24. I collected 3000 snap dragons........ still keep that big green fire breathing fu*cker in the shed
  25. Was with the Nfu for 8 years without a break, had a commercial type policy for work vans and our personal cars on it, this year I rang around and Aviva beat Nfu's price by just over £1000, I went back to them and they said they couldn't get near it, cosidering our 8 years of loyalty I thought that was pretty shit. On top of that was going through our business accounts yesterday and spotted the Nfu was still taking the monthly direct debit even though I had stopped the policy 1 day before renewal, the monies being returned, at one time I would've reccomended them but no way now.
