  3. Some of the most interesting people have spent a little time inside,he sounds a character,as we become more civilised such individuals are becoming rarer. He was a character for sure mate, pretty much all of black rock was smoking baccy or cigs that he had brought in on his little orkney fishing boat after late night rendevous at sea
  4. Absolutely right.....im not big on pubs but often go in a chosen few just to sit nattering ( mostly listening ) to the ol boys in their 70,s and ,s i find them fascinating.....great source of learning as well ......They are a generation who will be sorely missed by our society.......our society just dont know it yet ! 100% spot on mate...... I'd give pretty much anything to spend some more time with the people who helped shape my future, the problem is you think they're gonna be here forever then one day bang! they're gone.
  5. I got agree with all of you, I'd much rather listen to an old boy's stories than the shit most of the lads spout. I always had older friends growing up and was taken rabbiting, fishing ect with older blokes I loved the stories, snaring salmon or poaching rabbits ect My grandfather was born in Black rock near Dundalk in Ireland and brought the house he was born in later in life, once my old man and him settled their differences we would visit when I was a Teen. My grandad was a boy for sure he netted the estuary for salmon or set long lines for "flukes" ( flatfish), he spent a couple of month
  6. He's looking good mate, glad he's come on well for you, good luck for the rest of the season.

  10. "If the wind changes your face will stay like that" All that stuff about magpies too 1 for sorrow 2 for joy ect and saluting them when you see them, my brother in law works for me and everyytime he sees a magpie he stands to attention and salutes wtf
  11. I think everyone on here and in this country would kill anyone who killed one of there own, there's nothing you'd fight harder for than your family. If found guilty with hard facts they should get what's coming Did anyone read today that 1 of the woman in that nursey sex ring ha been released, Tracy Lyons she's a mother of 9 and videoed abuse of kids in her care to send onto a dirty scumbag, Blanchard. He had 3 woman sending him abuse videos from inside of nurseries. In all she spent 2 years behind bars, does she deserve to ever be free? They'll all be out soon,1 of the blokes who was in
  12. Just heard on the radio, no real loss though, I think he realised he aint as good as he said he was.
  13. Keep training it mate, retrieve, recall etc, I personally would wait another 3 or 4 months then on a dark windy night go out with a lamp and find a nice easy rabbit squatting out from the hedge, walk the dog up to it once it moves and the dog see's it slip the dog. If the dog catches it then you'll know if it will retrieve it live or not. If not keep practicing, if it does first time well done.
  14. Is this a dog you've got? if so what training have you done with it? how old?
  15. I'll be out a bit later, good conditions tonight, much better than last night when i was wasting my time.
  16. Roger Daltry's big into his fishing, has done a lot of big game fishing, he lives the dream.
  17. I forgot a classic my brother done, went to watch " some band called Cold Play" before Yellow was released they were playing in The Cavern in Exeter, a little, smelly venue. After the gig Phil ( my bro) got talking to Chris Martin, they were talking about trying to get there in bands Chris Martin turned round to Phil and said "we're about to make it" Phil put his arm around Chris's shoulder and said " Yeah, We're all going to make it" We're still roofing and doing the odd gig, Chris Martins Sh*ggin Gwyneth Paltrow and earning millions....................lol
  18. My old man had a pub in North Devon and Damien Hirst has a house there. One night my mate done a disco in the pub and Damien Hirst, Keith Allen and Joe Strummer were there, Keith Allen got up and sang Vindaloo over the disco fuc*ing about and they all signed my mates copy. Seen Keith Allen a few times there , Lily Allen was in once never saw her though my old man said she was nice enough. Damien Hirst was in fairly regular and dads got a picture he done on the bar of my dad, mum and a close friend all in a scribble when you stand back you can see their faces, clever, he signed that for my dad
