Fair play to your uncle mate, be interesting to see how it turns out.. im not sure for standard ferreting and a bit of ratting you can beat a well bred ferret, but I appreciate lads trying new things.. Yeah the mink man did get them from fur farms, he was an interesting lad, enjoyed his posts a lot

I got nothing but respect for the mink man, it takes a lot of skill and patience to achieve what he has... im honest enough to realise I don't have enough of either to be getting bitten every 5 minutes or chasing crazies along the hedgerow lol

Had an eu polecat off a mate about 10 years ago, had it from a kit, brought it on like any other ferret...it was a complete bitey c**t, no way could you work it, final straw was it escaped and killed my running ducks, caught it in a live trap the following night in the pen...that was the end for his escapades...never again, ferrets do the job I want just fine and have done for 40 years lol

The pressure of reform is causing quite a few U turns from this Labour government... its an embarrassment all round, this is to appease a large section of voters after the surge of reform has taken a load.... I agree with you lads though, it will be papered over to protect those who committed perhaps the worst crime, the mass cover up and turning a blind eye.. I hope real truths come out and everyone involved is dealt with properly, but I doubt it

Definitely a rodeo, I've looked at the bull riding but think we miss any whilst we're there (think they're in new York), there is a big one in Fort Worth at the end of January though, so it was/is part of the plan.

Yeah that's the ticket mate... very Hayseed Dixie!. I watched a busker in Bristol last year called Cam Cole... couple of months later saw he had a thing on amazon TV of him travelling around the south of America playing with old blues musicians in little blues bars.. watched him support Walter Trout (Cannec Heat guitarist) a few weeks back in a small venue in Exeter... im not massively into Blues music, but Walter Trout was outstanding

Thank you mate, we're not into touristy things as such, besides a couple of music venues I'm hoping the rest will be off the beaten track and not overly busy lol.. We planned to drive down the missippi from Memphis into Louisiana and then travel across Louisiana into Texas.. I don't want to be in a rush to leave somewhere if we like it, hence not booking the flight home..it might be we don't make certain places, but will take your advice and make sure we make Louisiana...cheers

Pretty much most of the time in florida will be fishing Sean...lol..get Fin, my brother and daughters boyfriend on a self drive getting lost in the mangroves lol... the girls will be fine..I might just have to be present on Marie's bday on the 19th for an hour or 2 lol.. Yeah Rickshaw has messaged on this thread and very kindly offered a meet up, hunt etc... its 6 months away yet, but I'm trying to book a few bits after florida, without being too rigid, if you know what I mean..

Agred on rest days as well..thars my problem, I don't like "wasting time" lol It comes to quick regards the kids mate, I miss those days of them coming everywhere with me, but this our new life I suppose...

Yeah Gracelands is somewhere I'd like to see, and I'd enjoy some of the blues bars as well...but perhaps I'd be happier out of memphis listening to blues somewhere traditional... just hoping we stumble on the things we are picturing in our heads lol... to be honest most times we ho away we end up finding the things we like, no problem talking to anyone, happy in most situations so it makes being accepted into others company quite easy.. Ah right, that's a good point on clothes mate..thank you.. I need to half plan the route, I don't like working to a schedule/itinerary on holiday, infact I can't think of anything worse..but in this case I at least need to have half an idea of where we're going lol.

Wow, that's very kind thank you for the offer.. Once we drop everyone off at Miami Airport on 27th Dec we are pretty much free to go where we want...quite keen on Nashville for New Years Eve and definitely want to go to the Grand Ole Opry.. Thanks for the heads up on Memphis, it is one of the fears of travelling blind, in that you could stumble into areas you don't want to be.. most of the major city in the UK have areas you avoid, but I know the score here and have been around enough to not overly concern myself ..im not stupid enough to think the US is the same and to be honest we
