    DD That is the question on every terriermens mind when they hear that Mr. Breay and others MAY have added Bull blood. Quoting from "The Fell terrier" there was a well known terrierman who approached Mr. Breay at a show and asked him about Bull blood in his terriers. I believe the answer was there was none. (These men are still alive so the story can be verified regardless of the book source) That terrierman went over and asked because no one had seen that type of dog before in the area.     DogMan85, Unfortunately not everyone sees it that way. It is easy for some to accept that Bull blood was added "a hundred years ago" but not to accept that it was added 30 years ago. It offends some terriermen to believe that "their line" has bull blood in it, even when its plain to see the bull influence in the dogs. So a "Blue Poll" might be acceptable but a Staff or EBT is out of the question. What a load of cobblers. IMHO it is not a bad mark against a working terrier strain if bull blood is evident, if that is what the breeder wants to do. But some guys are afraid to admit it.

    I haven't heard of the Chongging dog. There is a Chincha Bulldog mentioned in Dr. Dieter Fleig's Fighting Dog Breeds. They existed in Peru from the period 1100 to 1470 AD, long before Pizarro destroyed the Inca culture in 1533. Fleig uses it as an example of the school of thought that dog types in many places of the world have arisen completely independently of one-another.     Bedlington fanciers tale The blue in a bedlington is genetically a different type than the blue in bull types Isn't the Blue a dilution of Black?Yes it is in almost all breeds. It's more of a slate colour in bedlingtons and isn't the same, geneticallyfrom the poodle influence i wonder?

    LOL, no I'll leave that one to the history buffs.But, as I said before, I wouldn't be surprised if years ago before transport became so advanced if there were localised fox populations that carried distinctive markings or where taller or longer than foxes 100 miles up the road.
