On my air rifle I have been using the LED Lenser P7 with gun mount kit. Very very bright focusable beam ( from flood to spot ), takes 4AAA batteries that last ages, comes with scope mount and tail switch with pressure pad to stick on your stock. Happy days and not far off your bidget : http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/professional-torches/led-lenser-p7-inc-gun-mount-pressure-switch.html

Fantastic stuff -
Right the new ZKM magazines are a completely different fit to the old CZ 17hmr and 22WMR magazines. I know as I have the new 455 17hmr and wanted a 10 round mag, my shop had plenty of 10 round mags in stock but all of them for the older CZ 17hmr and 22WMR. The tabs are in different places and the angle of the ramp is different, also the magazine shape is slightly different.. I have 2 plastic mags a 5 round and a 10 round, no problems with them so far, they feed well and they are taking the knocks OK too. If you need the old style magazine give Gwynedd Firearms a call as they have

Regulated Scorpian SE by John Bowkett.
markha replied to Sweeney-Todd's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Bloomin heck mate, nice going indeed, you cant beat breaking new ground on the development front, well done on giving your gun up for Bowkett to play with . -
Lightforce 140 would be good as well, a bit smaller, a little lighter and still with 300m plus focusable beam which is more than enough for 17hmr. There is always the new range of Tracers that come as a boxed kit with charger lith'ion battery and rifle mounted lamp. 3 cree LED give very good distance and all in a compact unit? Had a look at them today and they are a nice package for the money with different range options available. I use LED lenser P6 gunlight on my air rifle and to be honest it would just about be OK for a 22 rimmy. I think you will get a lot of the lads and lasse

I just offered my thoughts, and sorry it came across as sucking eggs and all that, 1st time I have ever visited this section, so just posted an answer, if I had bothered to check your past posts I guess I would have answered differently, sorry for that. Just use your 2.75lbs rod mate you wont go wrong, I used to stalk the margins but found that chucking that spinner right out to the middle and then sink draw would eventually pull a big one in, always used to work at Bluebell Lakes. Have fun and sorry for my initial reply. Mark

Boresnakes and barrel wear - a technical hypothesis
markha replied to markha's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I thought I would add a couple of pics; the brush from a boresnake, these ones are from a 17hmr boresnake: This is a partially removed boresnake brush This is a boresnake brush next to a screw tip brush, both are 17hmr Now, both brushes are the same as near as damnit, one is used to scrub up and down a barrel and the other is used to pull through a few times. I dont work for 'boresnake' but I am trying just a little to clear up one of the 'boresnakes cause wear' myths. The old 'pull-throughs' of years ago, granted they could caus -
The subject of barrel cleaning comes up on a regular basis, as does the use of boresnakes and then the thoughts about barrel and crown wear. In my day job I work as a mountaineer, this includes technical rope rescue in the UK and overseas. As such I can comment on technical equipment issues, breaking strengths and rockwell scales for carabiners and rope dynamics etc. One thing I use on a reagular basis is two types of climbing rope, dynamic which is stretchy and generally used for climbing, the other is LSK or low stretch kermantle, this is static rope and generally used for rope riggi

My dad always said 'children should be seen but not heard' why the hell he could never just tell me to be quiet I dont know

Yup its a dirtly little bugger I did some quick field test and found that my rifle shot nice and tight until i hit 40 rounds then they started to realy open up , by the time I hade gone through a box of 50 the group at 100m was around 2.5". Now If you can be bothered to try and get a boresnake down the barrel after even just a few rounds then go for it! As the brass weight is far to light and youll be there for a month of Sundays before it pops out the end of the barrel hahahaha I always run a rod down the barrel with a wire brush on it and then put the boresnake through it for 10 passes

I once landed a 19lb Pike with an orange fibreglass 9ft skinny spinning rod with a cheap Shakespear reel loaded with 15lb mono line, after using a tiny little silver spoon with red spots on it, lets just say it was a good fight, that took no more than 6 minutes, and the Pike was netted and weighed in a sling and transfered back to the lake as quick as I could. Thankfully it survived, as Pike are pretty sensitive fish when it comes to the stress of a fight and then being handled out of the water. More important is the lbs rating of the rod, not its casting weight, when people start talk

There is a door but its hidden to stop any tree huggers from trying to get in and release the birds. (they could however just lift one end up with a couple of people) Dispatch will be swift and as humane as possible. Tegater, thats a massive trap there and looks like a permanent fixture , I like the idea of a pit underneath as it does keep the trapped birds out of sight from the public, and as you say its a burial site after the trap is closed down. Very interesting.

Thanks, Im sure it will work just a treat. Dimensions for those interested are 8ft long x 6ft x 6ft high. The internal measurments of the ladder ar 8 1/2" by 9" with perches at 3" gaps, all measured centre to centre.

Finally managed to get over to the farm now all that blody rain has gone, still extremely windy day thoug, something about a hurricane! Well I found a fairly sheltered area and got stuck in to putting the whole thing together, lots of wood screws, loads of staples for the mesh and a heap of cable ties to hold it all together, as its easier to snip cable ties and move the whole thing in flat pack to a fresh site when needed. Total cost of this was £123.00 in materials.

Myles, Do you like your .22CZ? If so then get a CZ hmr from new, wont go wrong Do you like your Redfield scope? I had a look through a 4-12x40 a few weeks back, nice scope, stick it on a hmr and get a cheap scope for your 22. 12-18xmag is more than enough for long range stuff. 'Tegater' on this forum has vid footage of him taking rabbits at over 250yds with a 3-9 scope with his CZ varmint. There are a lot of CZ owners worldwide now and very few problems with the guns CZ make. 17hmr is a very hot dirty round and the barrel is small, so small that checking a 2nd hand one properly woul
