  1. Can you get Harkila grandal fleece?
  2. Shooting Sports mag' is doing a full review of this in Octobers issue.
  3. I went on the Sunday, yea loads of people in head to foot realtree camo, why oh why oh why? As far as a game show goes it wasnt the best, OK so there was gunmakers row, great if your looking for something in particular, but with the exception of a few things, on the whole the prices were expensive compared to going to my local gunshop etc. Food was a joke, I enjoy getting some local game pies, or decent cattle burgers, cottage industry type food. There wasnt much of that about and what there was, wasnt to good. I qued for a while to get a hog roast, for christ sake they only had one hog
  4. I have to renew my medics qual' in October, this entails a session on administering intra musclular injections - on each other Last time, I caught my buddy out by making sure I had left my saline solution in the fridge overnight, hahah should have seen the look of shock on his face as 15ml of ice cold saline went in to his leg, hahahaha, that wil teach him to not to do the same to me again!
  5. Im no expert by any stretch, but it looks like it has some of the characteristics of both the drone and a hover fly. The drone has lighter head fur and lighter upper body, where as the hover has dark upper body and dark head fur. Legs and their colouring looks like drone, as does the 3 yellow stripes on the lower body. Could be a hybrid?
  6. Closest thing that matches for colourings, according to Collins complete wildlife is a drone fly. Based on the colour of the legs, the stripe pattern on the body and the head colour, eye size. However the dark colouring of the upper body suggest hover fly. cheers Mark
  7. Agree its too early to pick the sloes, they will be a bit sharp tasting, hence the old recipe of adding almonds to take the edge off. October, freeze for a couple of days, tesco's own gin (tried with gordans-far to dry) 1lt bottle, half fill with sloes, add 500g sugar then fill the bottle to the top. Do this all the time, left for xmas day, nice red, sweet alcoholic sloe gin, same with vodka too. Will be trying with 'Tofoc' vodka, which is a Welsh toffy vodka, lovely and may be great with some berry fruit flavours in it
  8. Nice pics, a traditional 'game and gun' good to see instead of loads of blood and guts hanging out.SP for you mate. ATB Mark
  9. So, Into the freezer last night and pulled out a big old rabbit with the thoughts of Moroccan Rabbit for dinner. I left the rabbit overnight to defrost along with a litre of frozen chicken stock from a couple of weeks ago. Now, I remember preparing this particular rabbit a month or so ago as it had very big thumpers on it, (it went in the freezer on 19th July 2010). There wasnt anything particularly odd about it, smelled ok, organs all in very good condition, just a bit milky between the skin and the carcase. It also smelt allright this morning after being defrosted. Anyway, in

Bloody hell Gary, idle hands and devil springs to mind mate! Nice job though, glad you mentioned the fact you are going to get busy with some green paint aswell, otherwise I would have stuck with the thought you were going on an african hunting trip for tigers
  12. Having been envolved in 'rural life and its pastimes' from an early age, and now renewing the shooting side of things. When i 1st came across the THL forums I was quiet shocked at some of the images posted, now Im not squamish, I was a combat medic amongst many military quals I had, and have seen active service in places you wouldnt think the British were serving in So, I have seen some grizzly stuff, it still didnt stop me from thinking about the type of people who were posting on here, especially with some of the photos they were posting. Initially I thought there were a lot of 'gun nut
  13. Nice one Bill, its good you had some spare wood to remove I tell you what, the close up pics of the stock look lovely mate, thats a cracking piece of wood work and the waxing/oiling looks superb, all that time spent doing it right has paid off.
  14. Marco, Strip, rebuild tune up is very easy with minimum tools needed. PM sent.
  15. The wood looks good Bill, a superb bit of work, Im sure with some clever measurements to the centre of your pupil! (just watch the end of those calipers they can be sharp ) you will come up with the height needed for the mounts so you dont end up fidging it, as it a shame to have to drop the comb height.
  16. Yea, got the same light, P7 gunlight kit, very happy with it.
  17. Same as most people on here, I zero before going on a live shoot every time.
