  2. As a brummy myself I cant think why you have called it Ken Infact If I want to 'put on a brummy voice'I will do it in the style of that 'pig' from the old kids programme called Pipkins,

  4. Hi all, I still stand by what I said regarding .223cf for fox and many police forces having that as the minimum, and its certainly the case in N Wales, I asked my FEO 2 months ago about the exact same thing - HMR HM2 22hornet will not be considered by NWP, .223 minimum and there are other forces in the UK with the same stance, according to NWP FEO.
  5. Ste I saw loads of stuff on ebay for sheets fo IR filter plastic mate, here we go http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INFRA-RED-FILTER-NIGHT-VISION-IR-NV-lamp-infrared-/200584593741?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item2eb3c6014d
  6. Richie, Its a waste of time talking to you, enjoy your narrow minded life of middle class self sufficient wanabe living, you obviously know all there is about arable and livestock farming, oh and as you keep telling us, you dont mind paying for shooting and you have a decent car. Bye
  7. Nick, Hi and welcome to THL mate, have a read through this regarding legal rifle calibres for deer: http://www.basc.org.uk/en/codes-of-practice/deer-stalking.cfm This may change your mind, also worth bearing in mind is that the vas majority of police forces wont allow any calibre below .223CF for fox. Sorry if you know this already, dont want you to suck eggs
  8. I know this thread was about poaching/poachers on your permissions. However, it has started to show up the fact that there are a fair few people who have no idea about rural life, farming and agriculture in general. Now there is nothing wrong with that, but instead of moaning about people getting money to do nothing, or not giving you permission to shoot, Why not do a bit of proper research and learn a little, this will help you see things from a different point of view. As Sako was saying about farmers being given funds not to farm. Why do you think the Lake Distric National Park i
  9. Nice one, have an SP for the write up and pics, I love the frown you dog has
  10. Grow up pal! Where has the prejudice come from? Of course its non farming scroats who steal from farmers, farmers don't steal from each other. It has nothing to do with prejudice! Believe me! Im a brummy 'saesneg' (derogatory word for englander) who is ex squaddy, ex 'towny' who gets permission to shoot on a fair few acres of Welsh farmers land, Welsh Farmers who are very Pro Wales, who still to this day slag off the English and not so long ago were burning down the holiday cottages of 'saesnegs' with 2nd homes up here. So dont talk about prejudice pal, why do I get permission and you dont?
  11. Yes Ste, nice to see indeed and anyone who is over my way is more than welcome to come out shooting with me.
  12. Farmers get a lot of thefts through out the year, cattle and sheep rustling still goes on in a big way, there was a 20yr old lad that got caught with a load of stolen sheep just a week ago. Farm machinery goes missing and dont even get on to the theft of diesel and heating oil in rural areas. I dont know about you, but if it were me I wouldnt want to give permission for anyone to shoot on my land. Anyone who gets permission to shoot on a farmers land is in a bloody privileged position. And you have the gall to say farmers are tight fisted with a small social circle and think stran
  13. Moley - my girls family are all farmers, over many generations. Based on price per acre youll maybe get £60 per ton for winter barley. That was end of year price for N Wales. A good years harvest per acre maybe be 6 tons. An average year possibly 3 tons. Last years winter barley in North Wales was £60 per ton with an average of 3 tons per acre. So £180 of barley per acre. Plus around 90 small square bales per acre. Small bales at £2 per bale (large round bales at possibly £25 per bale) So income £270 per acre. Now take off the cost of half a days work driving the
  14. Have a look on the bsa owners website http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php
  15. Mate, your going to have to reload a hell of alot of shells to break even, I mean, it could take you years to break even depending on how much you spend on reloading kit, plus theres the time factor involved too. Just cartridges are doing GAME & WET STEEL non toxic 24gms plastic wad number 5 shot at £180 per 1000. Plus Eley CT in 28gms at around the same price. http://www.justcartridges.com/pricelists.html This may be useful for the reloading if you havent seen it allready http://www.shootforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=2304&sid=d1548349fb883a70b3f1e95a04cff6d
  16. Ok Steve, well good luck with the sale, I thought you wanted a 410K though, stay with the PCP type mate you know you love them.
  17. I have to say I choose which choke to shoot based on distance to the bird, dont know whether thats right, but just the way I looked at it logically, close bird - less choke wider spread, distant bird - more choke longer range, tigher spread. Tight choke, close range = bird splattered with lead and un-eatable
  18. No dramas mate, is the gun leaking air as your post quiet clearly says: "only reason being is the springers are just as good and its all the hassle with if you get leaks and keep refilling" Then you stick up in the for sale section and when a forum member asks why you selling and rubs his chin, you ask him to PM you. EDITED Sorry my mistake, you tell the guy you have PM him. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/194779-air-arms-s400k-complete-setup-for-sale/ Everyone knows I am straight to the point mate, your past history with air gun trading, whether it was missunderstan
  19. Im not one to shoot people down in flames, but..... your selling rifles again, and mention a word in your posting, a little word called 'Leaks' and being fed up of them Also you have put this lot up for sale in the forums sale section, and when asked why so cheap you reply for the guy asking to PM you Dont let this go the same way as your last lot of gun deals, whether you were right or wrong, who cares, but to me something doesnt add up again Soory mate just the way I see it.
  20. Chris, You also need to be aware that you may get some serious trouble if you are in a public place with an air rifel/air pistol, even if it is in a case, as you are under 18yrs old. You and your parents especially need to read this: http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/media-centre/press-releases/lock-and-key Keep plugging away at the local farms, try the golf clubs as well, also anywhere where there are horse paddocks. Best of luck and never give up hope with permmissions, you could have a search for your local rifle club as that could be a real good way to get target practice, me
  21. Moley calm down mate, light hearted banter and all that, plus I did say it was a 'Hatstand'-'ardlamp' and yes not bad guns at all, and devastating in your hands
  22. Barry what scope are you using though mate, We are talking about a Hawke scope with the SR12 reticle - SR6 reticle is used at x6 mag and the SR12 reticle is used at x12 mag and you are talking about x7.5 mag and x9 mag
  23. Isnt this what happens with the better bits of wood from the Hatstand-ardlamp Company? Sorry Mole, couldnt resist, Simon primed me to do it...
