Bloody hell you must be bored! Edited: you realy have come over from the dog section!! set up a big target with a cross on it about 10m away, aim at cross, shoot 3 shots. if pellets are low wind the top turret anti-clockwise a bit. If the shots are to the left, wind the windage turret anti-clockwise a bit. If its the other way round ie right and high, then wind the turrets clockwise. Keep repeating untill your shots are spot on. Then move your target out to 25m and do the same thing again. Try and do this whilst shooting from a stable position, but if its a spring powe

Info would be appreclated.rifle ammo usage.

If that were me I wouldn't be worrying, but if it did get questioned I guess the Hmr could go but keep the CF. -
17HMR for those long shots on your new permission or hushpower 410 for those walked up rabbits that get startled

We had mixy on the Llyn last September/October, rabbits starting to come back in numbers again now though. Whee abouts are you Bouncer?

This is all speculative mate, you dont say how many rounds your buddy has actually used over 5 years. However lack of use, or lack of target species equals lack of reasonable need for any given calibre. There has to be target species on your permission otherwise they wont grant/renew particualr calibres - no 223 rounds shot equals 2 things - your mate doesnt go out as much or there is nothing to shoot on his/her permission, either way it means the same thing - no need to own that calibre of rifle, you cant just 'want' to own a gun. Tell him to get out and do some shooting if he/she is -
Very nice mix of ground to shoot over, you are indeed lucky, thanks for so many pics, have a point.

Muzzlebreaks/flash hiders - designed for rifles and big cannons to do two things - direct the gasses from a spent cartridge in an opposing direction to the harmonic flip of the barrel, or so the theory goes. The other part is they hide muzzle flash a bit better. As for air rifle muzzle flip in a springer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh6AASE6y9M&feature=related

Hawke Side Winder Tactical and AAS410 combination?
markha replied to gollum's topic in General Airgun Discussion
As for the scope, you can read my review of it Here Having a bit of reflection about this scope, and the reasons for me selling it; For hunting it was a heavy set up on an AA S410 when on walk about, for target work It was in its realm, either using mildots or when dialling in the clicks for range. The guy I sold it to in Ireland is a regular HFT competitor and he emailed me not so long ago to say how great he was finding the scope. Cheers Mark Edit: I used the supplied 2" sidewheel with mine and anything bigger would make taking the magazine out a little bit tricky, to be honest -
I meant to add this : its not always about big objective lenses and magnification, more important is the exit pupil size for your eyes.

I have had a few Hawke scopes, my current one being the SR12 reticle 6-18x44AO and my last one being the top of the range 30mm tube sidewinder tactical. Hawke optics are very bright for the money, I was comparing my current scope with another one of my scopes, a Bushnell trophy 3-9x40 the other day, yes the Bushnell is a little brighter even though its 4mm less objective size, but the Bushnell scope is a lot more cash than the Hawke. To be honest I got rid of the sidewinder for a couple of reasons, one was that it didnt hold zero too well, this may have been a dodgy scope and perhaps s

Hawke Map Pro Scopes
markha replied to secretagentmole's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Moley, tell me the following: What is you: pellet size - 177 or 22 pellet type (pellet weight in gr) your average chrono of feet per second - or average foot pounds Your scope height - ie height in MM from centre of scope lens to centre of rifle bore. Hawke BRC is not as good as the main Chairgun programme, BRC will not come up with your optimum zero for trajectory. If you bother to come up with the answers for the above questions you can then enter them in the chairgun programme and under the menu button 'tools' a drop down menu appears, choose 'optimize' then 'trajectory'. -
Hawke Map Pro Scopes
markha replied to secretagentmole's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Moley why are you zeroed at 32m? As choosing a kill zone of 1"/25mm in chairgun and adding my pellet weight, fps from my chrono and then letting the software pick the zero range best suited it comes out at 25m and believe me, being zeroed at 25m makes the use of range cards obsolete for airgun ranges as, depending on your magnification you either go up in intervals of 10m or 5 meteres per mildot or tie bar, and that is regardless of reticle holdover bars as they are all pretty similar. Whats your fps and pellet weight? As a side note, yes SR12 is superb,If I had a MAP6 I would sell -
Seems to have good eye contact there mate, good stuff

Ahh mate, that sucks, I know its no consolation, but my dealings with Phil at RUAG have been very efficient and very fast. Everything does come to he who waits, well sometimes, if its any help I'm happy to post my Meteor .177 for you to borrow, sure its only got 6ftlbs, but its my 1st gun from back in the day and your welcome to it till your Stutz arrives.

Is the fac law in the uk about to change.
markha replied to mjr88's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yep I know exactly what you mean Bud, petty, I was told I would have to do all the military safe handling courses again to shoot on the long range ranges, utter balls mate. -
Good day out 2x Crows 2x Pigeons with the .17 HMR
markha replied to saxosportsaxo's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Currently waiting for FEO visit and 17hmr will be the 1st rifle I get once have FAC, as its useability at range is well needed where I shoot. -
You mean the case split? and the bullet got wedged in the barrel? Why would you tell us you buried the rest of the bullet in a hedge As for unblocking the barrel with a cleaning rod, unless you know you have given the barrels rifling some abuse then all should be OK.

This back from the BBC today: Reference CAS-719075-XQFTFK Thank you for your correspondence regarding the BBC One programme ‘Countryfile’ broadcast on 17 April 2011. I understand you’re unhappy because you believe the programme incorrectly stated that hunting rabbits with dogs was illegal.
