Hi all, I have a Kahles ZF69 6x 42 scope for sale. It is well used but in perfect working order. The glass is in very good condition with no scratches and the scope tracks perfectly. Reticle is a German #1 post type which has a nice clear and sharp point. These are very clear optics and extremely bright with perfect colour and focus right out to the edges of the glass.. Even if you only know a little about rifle scopes you'll know that Kahles is the oldest company going and the glass they produce is the best. This is a solid scope that will never let you down. I'm not going

Ah c'mon lads, its not the specific calibre, its the skill of the person holding the gun. I know there are chaps on here who could probably kill a fox with a suitable catapult and the right sized steel ball. People are shooting fox with rimfire in some parts.

Best Binoculars - Quality Vs Price?
markha replied to TommyGun86's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I have been using a pair of Vortex Diamondback 8x28 for the past year or so, I did a lot of research on quality of glass versus size, weight and most importantly cost. I was very lucky and dropped on to a pair of military surplus ones in desert colours for £90, happy days, very bright glass for the size and would have no qualms in extolling their virtues. Having served in the the army I have had the opportunity to look through a lot of bin's (wise cracks welcome you quick witted bunch) and I'm happy with the Vortex stuff so much I was contemplating shelling out for one of their FFP scopes. -
currently have the following 'aquire' 22lr 1000 17hmr 500 223 100 with a 'possess' 22lr 1200 17hmr 700 223 150 For me its more than enough without having a seperate ammo safe; if I buy to the max' Im allowed my top box is full. I get through 22lr and hmr as I have a lot of acres and vermin to clear and 100 rounds of 223 is plenty enough, when its gone I just buy more, simple.

Nice one mate, If you put that top pic up in the photo comp I would give it a thumb, nice pic that makes you look at it to see more of its hidden content.

Not to snub your thoughts, but this topic has literally been done to death and it hasn't been pinned as its all subjective. The pellet that works for your particular barrel is the one that is best, Yes there are some rifle and pellet combinations that generally work well to start with, after that though its just down to the barrel and not all barrels are the same even on the same model from the same production run. Glad you have found a pellet that works for you.

New to semi auto's / Advice please
markha replied to mjr88's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Never ever use a spent cartridge its asking for a serious accident to happen. Make sure the gun is empty and just pull the bolt back a little, 1/4" and then pull the trigger to unload the firing pin spring, then let the bolt go forward again. Job done and thats what most of the manufacturers suggest. -
Yup, Im in, I think there should definitely be a 'no gory pics' rule, if dead quarry pictures are taken they should be done with the utmost respect for the quarry, so blood splattered brains and guts are out. What do you all think?

Well I had my FAC arrive today, and in very quick time too 6.5 weeks from posting. So reading through it all is good, 223 for destruction of foxes plus zero blah blah and no mentoring conditions attached, plus 17HMR and 22RF. All good and happy, then I turn over to read through the rest and spot a glaring mistake: maximum qty to possess calibre qty calibre qty 223 150 22rf 1200 223 700 maximum to purchase at any one time calibre qty calibre qty 223 100 22rf 1000 223 500 So as you can see no 17H

A very nice write up mate, tastefull pictures too (which are far better to my eye than loads of blood dotted head shots) love your jumper - sure I caught a whiff of it up here! Thats a great bit of land you have for shooting over, a real escape from it, so open as well, demanding good field craft and approach. Well done Wurz.

Tony your mate is stuffed with this one, you need to get rid of the rifle asap and get a fixed power 'legal limit' air rifle. Don't take it to a gun shop as they will confiscate it, try and take it back to the original seller and get your money back. Its not something I would want in my possession at all!

Mrs Mole, you clearly haven't learned a thing have you? Now, you either work night shifts or some other job with odd hours, Or you trawl the internet at 2am in the morning as you cant sleep due to all THL members posts on this thread, and its eating away at you???? If thats the case, then for the sake of your emotions and sanity and for the sake of your relationship with Mr Mole, I would strongly suggest that internet forums are not places that either of you should frequent as it will always end in tears for both of you. In short, you both need to get a check on reality as your attachm

Lost my shooting premission.
markha replied to LordGamebore's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I would try to calm things down with the person you have had a fall out with. Basically if you upset a landowner and he he has stated he is going to contact your FEO/FLO, the Police are going to look at your overall personal character in the way of "is this person mentally stable enough to be in possession of firearms", not good at all mate. Diplomacy and an appolgy, regardless of the reasons or who was right or wrong, you must stop this person from contacting the police at all costs as you will be up the creek mate regardless of whether you join a club, pay for stalking etc Get rou -
Peter what do you expect from a brummy? ofcourse Buster is blunt, he's like most brummies/yamyams (me included) - we say it how we see it and dont suffer fools, infact I think the only things that seperate us from the Jocks is that we have a better command of the English lanuage and we are nowhere near as tight fisted (sorry to all those North of the Border, you know its not true - just like brummies and yamyams arent all thick)

where do u keep ur rifles
markha replied to ngbacon's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Cheers Simon, thats what I thought, otherwise my FEO would be slapping me with a "you need another gun safe Mark" -
Some scopes are just badly made with missaligned lenses that will never be PA free regardless of how much you adjust them. My current Hawke scope is very good for getting rid of PA at all ranges, However a Bushnell scope I have, 3-9x40 which is a nice scope is non PA adjustable and was supposed to be set for PA free at 100yds - utter tosh. A simple head bop test confirmed it wasnt set up properly, so a few turns of the Objective lens and the occular lense soon had it PA free, however this wasnt the case if I tried to get rid of PA at closer ranges, I got it pretty close to PA free at 50yds ho

plstic or fibre is there a differance?
markha replied to air gun ant's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Plastic is non bio, Fibre is a lot better. Loads of info on here, just enter it in the search bar on this page. I have been using anything and everything from 5's to 7's and 26g to 32g loads, basically which ever is cheap at the time The main thing will be to 'get your eye in' and start building up some 'sight pictures' so you know where to shoot at for a given range, speed of target and wind speed/direction. Shooting on the clay ground will certainly help improve this for you, perhaps a session of 'DTL - down the line type targets to build some confidence. I had a fun shoot on s -
where do u keep ur rifles
markha replied to ngbacon's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
This new airgun security law is interesting as it states that you must ensure that its difficult for your air gun to be accessed by those under the age of 18. Im not sure if this means it applies to everyone or just those houses where people under the age of 18 live??? -
I know this is very slightly off topic, but always worth mentioning, especially to folks who may just be browsing this thread for their own enlightenment - If your into 'dialing in' elevation and using hold-on/off for windage that you make sure your scope has the reticle and the turrets using the same measurement system as there are a heck of a lot of 'sniper/target scopes' about that have MILS reticle with MOA turrets!

One last try to get someone else to make my mind up for me.
markha replied to Ideation's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Both guns are very very accurate straight from the box. All it comes down to is the reported problems with both guns, the price, weight? shot count? I have had my AA for a while now and I enjoy shooting it very much, its a carbine so great for stalking with and shooting from the van. 10 shot mag that works well and a very useable 70 shots from a full charge before thinking about more holdover or filling up, so for hunting, no dramas. Both guns are just as good as each other and in the end its down to your personal choice and how much you want to spend. Which ever you get you w
