  6. i live right next to/amongst sheep fields and farms mate, and so it just came natural to them really, i just walked through the sheep and growled at the dogs when they were pups, if they so much as gave the sheep a glance, plus i keep poultry and also hawks, so i always had the dogs around stuff, people think salukis are difficult but there not they know whats right and wrong they are easy to manage, plus they are good gaurd dogs, they go ballistic if they hear anything or see anything strange, out our back, all these traits are hard wired into them, and has been for thousands of years, goo

  8. a friend of mine has a lurcher x lurcher, (originally collie and deerhound based)which retrieves any shot game birds, as good as most decent picking up labs and spaniels
  9. depends what you want to train it to do, theres training and theres training, i dont think you would get one to compete in flyball, but for work mine were self entered, and just do what i want them to do, instinctivley, i havent even bothered trying to train them, i havent had to, they just work for me, and me alone, hunt jump kill carry good recall good guard dogs 100% trustworthy around livestock and poultry, its all just natural and hardwired inbred into them, ive never ever had any bother off them, easy as anything when you know how.

  12. £1.00 for freshly killed dogged rabbits, any ammount, thats without doing anything to them, ie not gutted or skinned, and it doesnt even mattter if there bruised, £5.00 for fresh hares (obviously the hares can and are only be taken by legal methods)

  14. this area has been down to minus 18 3 times just recently, and to be totally honest, this hard ground and cold doesn't cause my salukis any problem at all whatsoever, in fact they thrive on it, from a sporting point of view, they have that much advantage, i wouldn't want to run them on anything just yet.

  16. she's in season now ready to put to, it will be another 9 10 months before she comes back into season so she would miss most or all of next season lamping. just because she is in season now, doesnt mean you have to breed off it it now, if the bitch is that good you will be keeping it for the next 10 years or so, ??? theres loads of time to breed from it, in the years to come.
