  1. shirley rawlings owned the NWCC Top Puppy, chyton repetition Top Dog Winner of Millenium Champion Coursing Trophy, this was the sire to banatay bollinger
  2. dunno if he,s had many good dogs, or just that one or if they are in the whippet coursing club hall of fame like a lot of laguna and banatays are, at the end of the day this topic was about lagunas, and they still dont count as laguna,
  3. tony dent bellagossi, banatay bismark x special little rat, ????????????? i dont know the guy or havent seen the dog, as i think it was around 2003, ??? i had packed in by then,
  4. never heard nowt from him for a long time frankie,
  5. its a red grizzle pal it will change abit when older rio your dogs pretty dark isnt he, was he like this colour as a pup ? i like the colour of your dog, put another pic up please, if you have time.
  6. it might be rio, it looks a red/chocolatey colour to me, i havent really seen one this colour, so ? my colour vision aint perfect, but the artifical light and the camera flash make these pics look slightly different to if you actually saw it in daylight,?
  7. i bred this saluki bitch, she,s only 4 weeks old today, and like the colour, have any of you got chocolate salukis or pics of chocolate, saluki crosses, cheers cocker.
  8. thanks for your honest opinion cocker , but i was genuinely interested in the progeney from the banatay and the owners in the last 5yrs of comps? atb to be honest as i mentioned i packed in in about 1998 so i dont really have the answer from first hand experience,as i never went down there from 1998 although i heard that banatay stuff crossed with sooty sam stuff was being bred and was doing well, ???? atb
  9. difficult for me to say as i packed in in 1998, 6 or 7 years before the ban came in, the outstanding whippets in my opinion would be banatay bellweather,, banatay brevity, and banatay bollinger,
  10. your absolutley right, there are lots of absolutley superb first rate whippets from the best coursing/racing/working/showing lines in the world, with lines that are world famous, right through whippet history, right here, dogs which are being campaigned across the country, week in week out, by there owners, for anyone who is genuinley interested all you have to do is get out and about to the different events and meet people, do your home work, and order a pup,
  11. nice them mate, arnt they, if only it was that easy to go to prestatyn and buy one :whistling: :whistling:
  12. here are some pictures of laguna whippets bred by dorit, and lyla, "proper laguna,s" ime no expert but they look a different stamp, to mikes whippets, like peas in a pod
  13. all you are doing is showing your ignorance, how little you know about what is and what isnt when it comes to whippets, breeding, and history, if you know him so well nip up the road, and get the names and the breeding of the "laguna" bitches he has, i know mike fairly well, i have been to his house quite a few times, i have bought pups from him, sired by sooty sam, i saw all the bitches he had at the time i was there, non were full laguna, carrying the laguna prefix, the only laguna i know he had was an old red bitch i took there, 13 years ago, but that will be dead and gone by now, ime not k
  14. well your giving out wrong advice there as mike brown doesnt breed or hasnt bred "laguna" whippets, dorit mckay and her dorit, lyla bond gunning (now lyla wainman) breed the "laguna,s" not mike brown, mike breeds working whippets, with laguna blood quite a long way back in there breeding/pedigree, they are not laguna,s the title of this thread is LAGUNA WHIPPETS
  15. she will still have them, but i doubt she will be working them, just showing judging and a bit of racing (venture hill sprint)she,s called lilah wainman now as she remarried,
  16. i have only ever met two people who had laguna whippets, the first one was a bloke i met down holbeach hurn, lincs, he had a red laguna whippet, an adult, which he had bought off lyla as a pup, he gave it to me and another lad i was with, to deliver it to mick brown, which we did, i think mick was keeping it for breeding, the other lad was a keeper up castle douglas scotland who had 2 laguna whippets off lyla,
  17. i found them ok, for example the work they did ranged from hare coursing on the fens, and norfolk, to lamping rabbits, around british steel and ICI around redcar teesside, and warranby to the south gare, anyone on here who knows these places will tell you there is nowhere rougher to run a dog, any dog, but it lifts with rabbits, anyway long story short, whilst running them on this area the dog, never got injured, nothing to talk about anyway, but on one occasion the bitch tore her skin down her flank badly, and on one other occassion she damaged her back leg so severley that even after proper
  18. ps i have had 2 off mick, sooty sam x rabbit runner and sooty sam x sally honey, i owned them both before the ban, both were good on all quarry , and both did pretty good within the whippet coursing clubs.
  19. Aye mate i guess your right and all them whippets from MB etc are just pure shit and don't graft? Whereas all the whippets you see running about from her kennels are top workers? It's about the dogs, not the people. If it does the work it's supposed to and does it well, who gives a f**k who bred it??? Or what it's KC name prefix is? It's an old debate and it's boring, cos i've yet to see anyone hold up a whippet from mb and say it was a piece of shit. They only ever seem to chat on about the bloke. i have been coursing with her a few times and the proper lagunas were in a le
  20. does anyone on here have a genuine laguna whippet, with the laguna prefix, off lyla, bred off genuine laguna parents, with laguna prefixes, i very very much doubt it, but i would be extremley interested in hearing from anyone who does have one, which they bought directly off lyla, or even anyone with, a dog or bitch with the laguna affix, eg lilting laird of laguna, (not having a go or looking for an argument just genuinley interested.) cocker
